I hope the club let people know through a wide range of mediums. If you go on Twitter or the forums that is fine, but I bet there are a fair few hundred fairweather fans that might "just turn up" as it is the first game of the season. I am not sure if it has mentioned it as a news item on the official website. It should be easy to contact the press association to ensure that even the nationals show the game as sold out on the fixture lists for the weekend papers. Believe it or not young uns, some people are not glued to their phones and unfortunately The Sun maybe their only source of "up to date" news. No doubt there will be people who do turn up without tickets (after all when is the last time we have had a sell out first game of the season - the first game at the Mem was about 4th of the season) and the club will get stick for not sending personalised letters direct to the door, phone calls and emails three days in advance to let people know. I find it hard to believe any Gashead would just turn up at the Mem for the FGR game without a ticket, after we sold out our end of season games.

Have read most of comments in this so I will say what I said some weeks ago. The current state of the Mem is holding back the development of Bristol Rovers FC. The longer we stay at the Mem that the longer we stay as a nowhere to go football club. We urgently need a bigger stadium. God help us if we ever get into the championship. If we do…..what are the options?

If we do…..what are the options? Ground share poss somewhere? When I asked at an Open Day 20 years or so ago why couldn't we improve the Dickensian Mem ,I was told spending money would be wasteful as we intended to move to a new stadium!!! We had an MP in Stafford-Bill Cash- who wrote to me on headed House of Commons note paper that he would investigate my concerns over a relatively minor matter and get back to me.That was ten years ago and still waiting for that too!!!!!!!!

National papers. Are you having a laugh. Are you not aware the sells of national papers are at the lowest level they have ever been. Why is that simple, because of the computer age, mobile phones and twitter etc etc. Why have sympathy for anyone who turns up at the Mem for a game without a ticket. The only reason I can think why, is that they are unaware of our recent past, promotion and sell out fixtures of recent times. And yet again you query whether the club has put it out there. Well I can assure you they have!

There has been plenty of communication from the club regarding many topics. There comes a point where you cannot spoon feed anymore. Plenty of people on various farcebook groups asking questions that have already been answered but cannot be bothered to search out the answers themselves. I'm no technical genius but I'll search for the answers rather than ask questions and let someone else do the research

I like the idea, train to Cardiff Central, in the Coyote Ugly for pre match beers; I guess it would have to be a short term fix, wonder where I heard that before, left Bristol in 86 didn't come back until 96. Hmm.

Haha - you've got people moaning that the Fruit Market isn't "the right side of Bristol" - good luck telling them we're going to be playing in a different country!!

It is weird that ST’s are available for sale , in the old family stand though as a friend bought one and i went online on Friday and you could buy one , or so it seemed as i never went ahead with a purchase

If we do…..what are the options? In the recent past Burton, Yeovil & Wycombe have had spells in the Championship Luton are currently there and Bournemouth are in the Premier League all with grounds of comparable size. Not an ideal situation as I am sure we could regularly get 13 - 15,000 with the current enthusiasm surrounding the club. Fingers crossed we get some positive news in the near future on the stadium front and if we get to the Championship whilst at The Mem in it's current state, embrace and enjoy! Can't imagine too many Championship clubs would relish visiting our ramshackle home!

Haha - you've got people moaning that the Fruit Market isn't "the right side of Bristol" - good luck telling them we're going to be playing in a different country!! Assuming there's reasonable parking at the stadium I could get to Cardiff City's stadium from the M5/M4 interchange just as quickly as I could the FM according to Google Maps, assuming I had to get a train from Parkway.

From memory we only averaged 6K at Bath in the second tier when we were on the crest of a wave.

Have said many times on here ,if the desire and will was there The Mem could be redeveloped to hold 15000 relatively easily IMHO and more with a bit of imagination, the problem is that the desire and determination does not seem to be there.

A lot of people keep saying the Mem can't be redeveloped, but if we don't or won't get anything else then there might be no option. What are we going to do, stay there forever under the tarpaulins?
I don't know why the 2008 student flats idea can't be revisited. And if not those, then a Travelodge, a conference/entertainment affair and a couple of Pizza Huts/TGIF or whatever brings in the most money. Scrap the car park except for disabled spaces. Build some houses.
Lots of options, all better than doing nothing at all as the Mem crumbles.

The original plan had a hotel in the northeast corner of the stands. Also a convenience store . The club have to provide a certain number of parking spaces for officials etc to be allowed to compete in the efl.

All gone - first sell out of the season Sign of the times, lot of pride has been restored now and expect this to happen regularly UTG This is Rovers, surely you know that all it takes is a poor run and everyone goes nuts and crowds go down. I am not going to get drawn into a buying spree but i have bought a ticket for Shrewsbury. I don’t understand why ST’s are still available, in the old family stand though. Not gone to the point of buying but have tried it to the point of picking a seat then let iot time out.
