A lot of people keep saying the Mem can't be redeveloped, but if we don't or won't get anything else then there might be no option. What are we going to do, stay there forever under the tarpaulins? I don't know why the 2008 student flats idea can't be revisited. And if not those, then a Travelodge, a conference/entertainment affair and a couple of Pizza Huts/TGIF or whatever brings in the most money. Scrap the car park except for disabled spaces. Build some houses. Lots of options, all better than doing nothing at all as the Mem crumbles. Have parking spaces underneath flats like at the totterdown bridge new build flats (boatyard). The original plan had a hotel in the northeast corner of the stands. Also a convenience store . The club have to provide a certain number of parking spaces for officials etc to be allowed to compete in the efl. One of the reasons it was abandoned was that there was not a developer who wanted to build the student accom. The local infrastructe could not cope with crowds of up to 18k. Only way round that is more park and ride schemes.

I think that crisis would be nothing in comparison to what’s going on now and seeing no end to it

Has been discussed a fair bit of late and now saying we could see houses and prices go lower and even negative equity. Was on newsnight a few days ago

That's like buying a pair of new shoelaces when your suit has holes in it.

Was on newsnight a few days ago You stated "what's going on now" not what may, or may not, go on, the forecasters were even saying yesterday that consumer spending would drop when today's figure was announced but it's actually increased by 0.5%. There are no real signs of a property price crash at the moment.

Have said many times on here ,if the desire and will was there The Mem could be redeveloped to hold 15000 relatively easily IMHO and more with a bit of imagination, the problem is that the desire and determination does not seem to be there. As I’ve said many times in rebuttal, it makes no financial sense in the common market, with all the restrictions, with the loss of capacity during construction with no more ROI than what the Mem currently holds to do it. Spending £20-30m to increase capacity by 5k but being unable to use the real estate to generate anything more than just matchday revenue just adds to the heavy debt burden and losses which the club or the owner has to bear.

Will Rovers possibly have to play their first few home games behind closed doors as a result of the pitch invasions during the Scunthorpe match? If so are season ticket holders compensated? Maybe the club will have a points reduction!

Nobody can seem to answer the question but why can't a redeveloped Mem be used 24/7 for conferences, hotel/gym and retail etc just like the FM? Brentford have just built a brand new stadium in what seems a far worse plot of land than the Mem. They have also held their own in the Premiership last season with a similar sized ground to a redeveloped Mem.

Brentford focus was to get to the Premiership as TV and sponsorship money makes gate receipts small change. The extra money from the latest TV deal would have more than covered letting fans in for nothing across the whole premiership. Do you build a stadium and hope it makes money or do you get within reach of the top division first? Granted there is the non matchday use but you get the very generalised picture

Could be a few no shows now due to the train strikes. I know I now will be struggling to get to the game

Correct, we’ve just fitted new top of the range light bulbs. 👍
