I believe he’s happy here. Why wouldn’t he be. His career is taking off, he’s successful and close to home playing for a club he cares about. But, it’s not that simple if we get a really big offer that is good business for the club. The fact that he doesn’t appear to be desperate to leave surely puts us in a good position though. If he keeps doing the business his value will only rise.

Topper told me to consider following a club closer to where I live but having travelled from Stafford for 50 years, a 200 mile round journey and now 150 from Devon,I wouldn't follow anyone else.In the late sixties I always took my leave from RAF Laarbruch BFPO 43,Germany when we had two home games in a week and stood proudly on the North Enclosure at Eastville in my RAF uniform 1966-69.

He is obviously very happy at Rovers and happy to remain here BUT if the Championship come calling ( before we get there !) and he has a chance of future financial security then i am sure he would go with the blessing of the vast majority of Rovers fans, all be it tinged with disappointment.

From memory Rickie Lambert said the same before moving to Southampton a week later! You are right and I’m not confident Collins will be here for years to come by any means, after all he has proven he’s too good for League 1 this season. But like Lambert, he could leave Tomorrow with his head held high knowing full well he has given his all for the club and hasn’t forced a move by requesting it or slagging us off in public. That is the difference between between the way Lambert and Matty Taylor are viewed by Gasheads, one left the club showing great respect with real dignity, the other left out the back door with nothing but disregard. I’m confident that if Collins leaves, it’ll be in the Lambert category rather than the Snake. |

And I think Lambert signed a new contract just before we sold him so that we’d get a bigger fee If I remember rightly ? |

Sadly we are a selling club and Aaron like every other player must take their chance when it comes along to play at a higher level. I actually think Wael will pay him Championship wages to stay, but ultimately when a offer too good to turn down comes along I think he will go. He would leave with my blessings though 👍🏾
