His reputation is improving game by by game as are his assists and/or scoring numbers. He is probably the most prolific player in the EFL. Proved himself in League Two, doing the same in League One for our sake I hope the Championship clubs ignore this window. If he continues the rest of the season as he has started it, then I very much doubt he’ll be us next season (unless our play off push is successful).

I don't mind admitting that I thought he was too lightweight at the start of last season - but what a player he has proven to be!
JB said before the Peterborough game that we had the best striker in the league. Whilst Joey has a habit of coming out with these outlandish opinons, he often turns out to be correct.

Coming up to a year where this man has failed to live up to his expectations, the wales fa were correct in not calling him up and also there must be a reason teams didn’t come flooding in for him after his first half of last season.
The new manager needs to give this guy a break. It could be a break from the team and a touchdown to earth could reignite his hunger as he seems a lost soul on the pitch currently and it’s helping neither us or his confidence atm

Hasn’t he largely been played out of position on the wing or have I got that wrong?

How Mangan couldn’t see it earlier yesterday is baffling He needs to be dropped. Simple as that. There’s a great player in there but he needs to earn his spot by coming from the bench with hunger to show why he deserves to be in the starting 11 Vale looks to me to be much more of a threat, and Thomas needs a run of games. Hasn’t he largely been played out of position on the wing or have I got that wrong? He has but so what? If he was playing with the quality we know he has it would not matter where he was played, look at Harvey Vale for example. Maybe his new deal has made him too comfortable and perhaps when he is in his last 6 months his form will return?

Not sure his heart is in it at the moment. He's a young man and his head was probably turned by the hyperbole about him maybe playing for his country and since then has been ok. He's no longer the superstar we thought we had. Agree with kampucheagas, he needs to be given a kick up the arse.

If a player is giving his all , running his socks off to get in the right positions , getting stuck in etc but simply just not good enough then I can handle that but Collins is good enough and not doing any of those things. I agree with the OP needs to be dropped , I would have done it weeks ago if not months ago.

World class players are exactly that for a reason. AC is currently league one for a reason.

Ok so the reason he looks dis interested, getting muscled off the ball, can’t beat a man, can’t control it, can’t shoot… is because he’s stood in the wrong position ? It’s a cop out

Currently no Rovers player is in the league 1 top scorers list on the beeb. Shows top 20 or so players im guessing. Only one Rovers player makes the assists list and he is in the top 5...Aaron Collins.
He may not be the world beater he was a year or so back...yet he is consistently the best scorer and assister at Rovers still.
Might actually highlight other squad members failure to step up to the mark when AC is percieved to be rubbish, lazy and disinterested.

He's a victim of his own success from last season. 3 goals and 5 assists makes him one of the highest performing if not the best Left Wingers in the league.
I do agree last 3-4 games he's been very poor and his decision making in the final third is baffling sometimes - wish he'd try squaring it once in a while instead of shooting from wide angles. Needs a few games on the bench.

A firing AC walks into our team.
A misfiring AC stumbles into our team usually.
But I think playing Thomas and Vale wide of Martin is certainly worth looking at tomorrow.

Yes - this would definitely be my preference. The three remaining midfielders are much more difficult. Rotate between Finley, Ward, Bogarde and Evans according to fitness and form I guess

Play him central off the shoulder of Martin and let him run at the opposition defence into their box and you will see the Collins we know and love. Playing wide kills his style of play and most likely his confidence.
