Just saw this article on the Beeb website about another loan for the lad and wondered what you thought of his chances of eventually making it into the first team? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64725333

He’s only 18. You never know. If he can impress at Truro then he may get a higher profile loan. A long way to go but he has a better chance of a professional career in the game than most footballers. It’s up to him to go and make the most of it.

I haven’t looked it up tbf, but Truro I think is step 3 or 4.
That is an enormous gap to league football and I hope he is playing with some decent players. Not his fault or JB’s, but again another example of no pathway.
I don’t know the lad, but if I was his agent I would be looking at Step 1, ( Step 2?) at 18 years old.

Weren't Chippenham Town Step 2? There clearly must be a reason he's stepped back a few steps.

Perhaps with Chippenham near the foot of the NS table and at a higher level we could only get guaranteed games for him by dropping a level? At Chippenham he’d be on the bench at best. No idea really but suspect it will be something along those lines. UTG!

Was Part of the Chippenham Team that beat Lincoln in first round of FA cup proper! one Rovers player that can say he has beat Lincoln this year!

Played every minute of the first 8 Games in Row. There was a few rumblings that other team members were complaining of Game time and threatening to leave and also the coaching staff were a little annoyed that Harvey was called backed to play in U23's Game at short notice seems to have changed things. Played as Left Winger most of time for Chippenham. Scored 1 and 4 assists so did okay.

All of those three had moments when it looked like they might make the grade.

That's another Harvey gone.... perhaps JAB doesn't like Jimmy Stewart classics?

Attachment DeletedHarvey Greenslade's Loan Extended With Truro until the end of the season. Coming off 2 Goals against Bracknell and also speaking with someone in Plymouth, he says he has made quite an impact down there as twice coming on as Sub and changing the Game against Hayes and Yeading and more Notably Chesham United where Truro were 1-0 down and After his introduction Truro won 3-1 with Harvey having some involvement in all 3 goals.

Really hope he makes it with Rovers , hope he is given a fair chance and gets the oppertunity with us , it has not been the case in the past with others.

Yes, I hope he gets the opportunity to make it with us. I fear he won’t get that opportunity and it’s really hard to call because managers just say something about training and will send him out on loan until contract end and then release him. I don’t expect him to be treated differently from others but if the best of our youth don’t get the chance then you need to ask the question what’s the point of a youth squad.
UTG!

Kieran Phillips has one of the best goals to minutes ratio in conference North.
Maybe we were a bit hasty, after all I suspect that the wages of 19/20 years olds coming through the ranks for a season would be about the same as someone like Leon Clarke or Charlie Austin for a few months, especially as they could go on loan and have some of their wages covered.
Who knows the Shrewsbury game will probably have absolutely nothing riding on it and we may play a few of our youngsters?

Who knows the Shrewsbury game will probably have absolutely nothing riding on it and we may play a few of our youngsters? The Release of Kieran Phillips was a mad decision! always had a great eye for goal, and yes he had a couple of bad injuries but if im honest he could out weigh what Marquis or Loft have done this season for a fraction of the price. The fact that he was not given 1 chance under the new management was nothing short of ridiculous and i am sure it will come back to bite us as he is destined for big things if he stays fit. The one thing i know is the few youngsters we have on our books will never give less than 100% and can all play.

Scoring 5 goals at NSL level hardly justifies stating he's a better striker than Loft or Marquis at L1 level. The fact he's still at NSL Level doesn't suggest the football world agrees with that POV.
