We can give the snake sh** without feeling guilty. Just hope no new manager bounce. Has to be weakened team following their 2 sending offs Saturday?

Maybe, although it would favour his parent club if we did beat them. I guess as he is out of contract he could end up anywhere, so yeah give him hell at Vale Park!

They have a awful run in Ipswich away tomorrow night us at home on Saturday then Charlton away finishing up on the last day Plymouth at home There is an absolute danger they could finish on the points they’re currently on. Wether that ends in relegation relies on a couple of teams below actually putting wins on the board. Cambridge, Oxford & MK at the least. They need three teams to overtake them. Looking at the remaining fixtures, I can only really see two catching up. It will be close but they may well stay up on 46 points. I think the atmosphere there on Saturday will be toxic and we’ll get the win (a bit like the Oxford game). Looking forward to it already!

Reading between the lines they appointed a DOF and haven’t backed DC in any of the windows since promotion, lost key players and had no money to replace… now they’re paying up his 5 year contract.
Weird.

Weird. I thought they signed the Snake in the Jan window? Hate him or hate him he was one of the top goalscorers in this league

Poor decision that - most of the season they have been doing OK and pretty sure he would have kept them up and gone again next year. Hope we stuff them and the Snake now - would be happy to see them relegated on the basis of that decision alone.

What a ridiculous decision. Hope they go down now.
Darrell will be back managing again soon. ❤️

Interesting to read the comments on the PV forum - generally very supportive but does say he looked like he was struggling which is not surprising given recent events - perhaps sounds similar to the end with us. No Rovers fan wanted to see him go but at the end it did look as though it was all getting to him. Reflection on a bloke who gives it everything. I hope he picks himself up and goes again - he is a winner who I am sure will see promotion again in the near future where ever he ends up. DC will always be a legend, one of the best rovers manager in my life time, not just for the results but for the passion.

Sad to hear this. DC is and always has been an emotional man. Most of the time this has been a strength for him and his sides. It seems that how he deals with a poor run has cost him with us and Vale, both times when he had otherwise done a superb job and still had most of the fan base behind him. He’ll have no problem getting another job in league 2, possibly league 1 but both those sackings leave a question mark for employers. On the face of it he’s particularly unfortunate this time as they’re so nearly safe and may even have enough points already. Could easily have won that game against Lincoln at the weekend and be as good as safe. Really fine margins.

Weird. I thought they signed the Snake in the Jan window? Hate him or hate him he was one of the top goalscorers in this league They did, but he was misfiring at Oxford something like 6 goals in 25 apps and hadn't made the starting 11 for a month, he's got 3 in 11 for PV. I'm pretty sure snake is finished at this level in a prolific way which is how we knew him. They also signed one youngster in Jan from Forest but had 3 players leave. When you look through their squad, there is only 2 players who are at their level and I think I would have in our squad. One would be Ben Garrity and the other would be Ellis. But even then are they going to be players that would put you into the play offs? I don't think they would achieve any higher than what they are with their current squad. They are a bit like us, in need of a complete reshape once consolidated in this division.

Hasty imho, they were doing ok few months ago, flirting with play offs with us , signing Taylor seemed a no brainer but since then they have gone down hill rapidly, perhaps his presence upset the balance of the team? does not seem to have been on the score sheet much, still think they would have survived comfortably and go again next season after DC recharged his batteries though it sounds like he has been unable to find the answer to Vales poor form, bit like the ending with us. wish him well.

I know I’m not meant to answer this, but of course I’d have him back because he’s DC. Not right now though as we’re doing OK as we are. People always say don’t go back but there are really good exceptions to that rule and who knows, if the circumstances are right in the future!
