No united in 99 but well done city. Amazing team, deserved that even if the final was a bit dull.

Inter would’ve snatched it had Lukaku not came on with his boots tied together.

Nice one mate Any more knee slappers in the locker? You heard the one about fans who pontificate on which they know nothing? Absolutely hilarious

Wishing for an Inter win but it’ll be Man City. Cue having to suffer the media gushing over an ‘historic’ achievement the next few weeks that only took over a Billion Pounds to achieve🚮🥱 Their net spend is less than Man United's over the last ten years. No doubting they over spent early on, but they had a lot of catching up to do. Over the last few years, they have been a well run club, selling players at the right time and reinvesting the money. How much did Chelsea spend during one year and he did they do? I'm glad they won, will shut up a lot of the jealous fans of big clubs, who just say, they will never win the champions league. Especially Man United fans, who moan they buy the league, even though they spend less. Then they also moan they want the Glazers out and want someone who will spend more money.

It’s all just one big bore fest. Would love to see if Pep could win the league with 3 or 4 academy players in the side every week. Lewis, Palmer & Foden lets say. He’s done it at 3 clubs with the unlimited resources, interesting to see how he’d do testing himself with the home grown lads in the side as regulars.

I find it funny how the Fosters swilling YNWA stay at home Sky Sports watching premier league army whom are gutted their team came second in the Prem declare League One football as dire. Yet whenever I pop on elite football the pace of play is equivalent to a 1994 1.0l 4 speed Vauxhall Corsa. The play acting is infinitely worse. And you’re subject to endless slow motion replays of elite players, supporters and managers playing out a gurning competition (I mean wtf is this all about) rather than showing the actual bloody football. Struggle to get into it myself.
(pedants beware - this doesn’t relate to one team but all the big boys so don’t get your knickers in a twist that Liverpool didn’t come second)

Foden has played a lot over the last few years and Lewis played a lot at the start of the season. He only lost his place, when he decided to push Stones into midfield when they have the ball, what Lewis was doing before that. Stones was brilliant last night and over the last few months. Taking players on, passing the ball around and getting back when needed. I would like to see him at a club with less money. He has improved a lot of players, changed the way they play etc though, so there is no denying he is a top coach. Plus as I previously said, other clubs have spent more. He hasn't had unlimited resources, especially over the last few years. But like with Sir Alex, he knows when to get rid of players. He sold Sterling for £50 million, sold Jesus and others for big fees and put the money back into the squad. Cancelo was sent out on loan and he brought Lewis through to replace him.

Well done Manchester City, with all the resources at their disposal it's taken longer than it should have. As an Englishman i derive no great pride from their win though ,hardly any Englishmen involved were there? I do not think their achievement ranks along side those of the early Man United, Liverpool, Villa, Forest wins or the greatest British win of all , The ' made in Glasgow' team that were the first British winners, Celtic, an Achievement which seems even more remarkable as time goes on. What ever people think ,Inter come away with all the plaudits for not obliging the arrogant English Media and losing by a record score or capitulating before 1/2 time, they refused to play the lambs to the slaughter part allocated to them and could easily have won it.

I am guessing you refer to the Man U team of '68! The '99 winners only had 4 Englishmen (Neville, Beckham, Butt & Cole) in the starting 11 The 1984 Liverpool team had, yes, 4 Englishmen in the team I cannot remember a decent Champions League final in recent seasons, probably have to go back LFC V AC or perhaps Barca v Man U some dozen years ago. It is almost as if the pressure to win in the final itself is too great. Those Man City performances against Real in the semi final were light years away from last night.

Grealish, Stones, Walker and Foden were English. A lot less English players now. Weren't you only allowed so many foreign players back then though? Shame that rule had to be scrapped.

Watched it and thought it was decent. Inter were great. Aggressive, mischievous and really unsettled the typical Man City play.
WRT an English club etc. It's not is it? Foreign club, money, owners, manager, players, with a ground in England. The whole Premier league as an institution is a sell out.

From an English perspective, even though there's not many of them, in my opinion, winning tournaments like this can only be a good thing for the national team. The more players we have reaching the finals and winning major club tournaments the better.

From an English perspective, even though there's not many of them, in my opinion, winning tournaments like this can only be a good thing for the national team. The more players we have reaching the finals and winning major club tournaments the better. We've had a couple of all English finals in the last few years plus Man City winning last night. I'm not sure how it pans out but if a non English team wins it, there's rarely an English player involved. If an English team wins it, there barely an English player in the starting 11 these days. So, all in all the national team gets progressively less exposure than others such as Spain, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy as it stands nowadays. Accumulate player count for Champs league: Number of players (by nation) who have won the European Cup/Champions League final 78: Spain 72: Italy 69: England 65: Germany 52: Netherlands 43: Brazil 42: Portugal 34: France FIFA rank 2023: Argentina France Brazil Belgium England Bear in mind also that the South American Copa is full of players from that continent with hardly any Europeans at all.

Have you checked how many English players played for Liverpool in 1984?
