Blimey! Not sure anyone’s called him a genius, I certainly haven’t. (But he is of course!) ”Not in the same league as ……..” Now I know you’re on a wind-up. Of course he’s as good as those. He’s done it and kept doing it. Managers you’ve mentioned are all top performing managers who’ve enjoyed success. To try and denigrate Guardiola is very strange. You are allowed to believe more than one manager can be excellent without running down others. But you are right……absurd. UTG! Have you been under a rock? Multiple people have called him a genius, several times in the CL coverage itself. He's not as good as those. As I've mentioned already if he can take clubs from the 2nd Division like Derby and Forest who had never won anything before and win them league titles and European Cups like Brian Clough did. If he can take a club like Ipswich to domestic and European success like Bobby Robson did. If he can break the Old Firm dominance in Scotland and win European Trophies with a club like Aberdeen, and then come to England to a club who hadn't won a league title for 20 years and turn them into a giant at Man Utd like Fergie did then you may have a point. He hasn't though has he? I mean even if he could go to a club who hadn't won a league title in 30 years like Liverpool and win them a league title like Klopp did too would probably sway my opinion. Again I haven't tried to denigrate Pep Guardiola, just stating facts as to why he shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Clough, Fergie or Bobby Robson certainly, and that other managers achievements far outweigh his, pound for pound. By the exact same logic haven't you also tried to denigrate those other managers? Those managers also haven't had 115 breaches over their heads. I Just find the hype over Pep way over the top, absurd indeed! Well, as well as “brown-nosing” and “tongues up his arse….” now I’m living under a rock! Wow, complements are flying tonight. You are allowed to disagree, have an opinion without insulting people. I said earlier that all the managers you mentioned were top performing managers. But I’m sure you know that Robson at Ipswich didnt do what he did without spending a lot of money (for the times) or that Fergie did what he did without spending money, lots of it and not forgetting Cloughie who spent more than most at Forest on several top players to try and keep over-achieving. It doesn’t happen, anywhere, anytime with any manager. They all spend money it’s just that Guardiola seems to do it better than most. UTG! |

I’m sure that Pep is absolutely gutted and is now about to hand back the 35 trophies he won in 14 active years because some people on Gaschat.co.uk think he needs to go and win the league with Aston Villa

The £20M a year he gets from a Football Club he probably wouldn't of even heard of 15 years ago probably means he isn't gutted about much in life. He can manage any club he well pleases, not an issue whatsoever, just pointing out others achievements outweigh his, pound for pound. If you put Frank Bruno in the lightweight or Welterweight Divisions he'd probably knock out every Lightweight or Welterweight in Boxing history. Doesn't make him a better Boxer than Floyd Mayweather. An analogy that sums it up quite well. Maybe he should hand back quite a few, considering Lance Armstrong had to hand his medals back. 115 breaches just seem to be being brushed under carpets 🙂 |
