Reports coming out of Gloucestershire that we are looking to sign Alfie May. Gillingham made an offer of £200,00 which was turned down and he could now be heading to us. Although 30 he would be a great signing

Have Gillingham got new owners? They got them in January. Gillingham were in grave danger of relegation but an American bought the majority of the club and The Gills brought in enough new signings to enable them to stay up comfortably.

Have Gillingham got new owners? Yes, wealthy American owner, assuming we can match whatever they can offer why would May choose L2 football over L1? It looks like Charlton could well be out of the running until they get new owners.

Seems unlikely unless Collins is off… Why, when we probably spent a similar transfer fee, £200K/250K, on Connolly and McCormick last summer?

If The Gills can match the wages you can offer it's possible the pull of his home county could influence his decision.

Last week it was reported he was going to choose Gillingham over Charlton and others, as he wanted to move closer to home. He was born not far from Gillingham.

If we do get him, the intention must be to play him up top (with JM as back up)
A front line of
--------AM AC-----JB-------SS(LT)
Would be pretty potent for sure. Luke and Marquis as impact subs. One more first choice CB and a Bogarde replacement and I may get on Richie's bus!

He had a preference for 3-5-2, then ended 4-3-3. We were not very good at 4-3-3 in my opinion.

With Charlton seemingly out of the running perhaps playing L1 football and also carrying on living in the same area he's presently living is now more attractive than playing for Gillingham in L2. Norburn looks a done deal with us last season but he ended up at Barnsley!

Not sure how to feel about this one. On one hand he did score quite a lot of goals last season. But I'd be wary that he may not be able to do that in our team. Is he one of those players where it just came together for him for a couple of years at Cheltenham.
If the powers that be want him ill trust their judgement, but think I'd maybe be looking to spend that amount of money elsewhere. (Sure I'll change my mind when he hits double figures for us in the first month if he signs haha)

There will be no "sell on" value in him, unlike a player U25 who may improve and be worth a fee. It's almost like buying a player to gain success.

If we spend that much on him, it will probably mean Collins is on his way and he's going to be his replacement. Should leave money to invest in a younger player with potential as well.

Since Pompey and Vale are snapping up everybody, I’m suspicious of any potential transfer where neither are mentioned….there must be something wrong with him!!!!
