Failing to sign Alfie May would no doubt be a big blow to Rovers, who would have had a striker who knows where the back of the net is! Rovers are often left behind when it comes to obtaining these high-caliber players. I suppose this is the difference between challenging for a promotion place to languishing in mid-table. is it such a big blow? He only really started to get mentioned when the fee was being banded about and we have a few number 10's in the house already - albeit not with his scoring record. To my mind we need someone with physical presence in the box and he would not have offered that |

Always a bit wary once it goes past a certain length of time, I'll write this one off, I think. That's a "David" type post when we've only been rumoured to be interested in signing him earlier this week? |

Don’t think I can get down about not acquiring a player we only knew was linked with us yesterday and then next day supposedly off somewhere completely different.

Although we still wouldn't have a Harrison or JCH presence in our own box to defend at corners and free kicks. |

Heard today that we matched Charltons offer ….
BUT … Charlton threw in add ons including a promotion clause.
When we offered the same clause the Cheltenham board burst out laughing !
Case closed …
