So who is it?
Also my controversial opinion (albeit I don't know whole story) is that it's not the major crime it's being made out to be.
Opinions?

Firstly, capitalise BBC, secondly, speculation won't help or be helpful and thirdly not for this part of Gaschat. At best, General Chat but ideally left alone until further details are made public.

But cricket stays on on forum? Joke moderating. How many times have we explained other sports are allowed on the main page during the closed season? It’s really quite simple.

Simple might be hard to understand for some? Only a Simpleton would start a thread inviting people to speculate on the name of the individual when every media outlet is explaining the legal reasons why this shouldn’t be happening

Feel to discuss this topic generally, but any potentially libellous comments against individuals will be removed.

Apologies to those whose posts have been deleted, however this has to be done when individuals are named, due to potentially linellous nature of this. Any further similar instances will also be removed.

Game set match
Shocking the BBC trying to cover up such awful actions again! Corrupt top to bottom.

Game set match Shocking the BBC trying to cover up such awful actions again! Corrupt top to bottom. It's not as a simple as that though is it? Easy to bash the BBC but a lawyer representing the young person involved has denied there has been any wrongdoing.

Fancy that, paying a very expensive lawyer only for them to say nothing going on here.. we’ll see what comes out in the wash. The young person involved, unfortunately only cares about the next drug he/she can take to feed that habit, unfortunately that money comes from this predator at the beeb so they’re not likely to bite the hand that feeds! I feel for the parents who are the ones pushing this, it’s no secret the young person involved doesn’t want to push ahead with charges. I just find it sickening the BBC knew about this and let it drag on for months. Should have been suspended the moment the complaint was made.

You may be right, but you may also be jumping to conclusions too. We'll have to see what comes out. I'd have thought though that selling a story to The Sun would bring in more money, can't see the existing relationship carrying on now. In terms of the suspension, it would depend on the circumstances and how the original complaint was made. The person at the heart of this is now an adult, if their parents put in a formal complaint but they didn't want to, then maybe it wasn't sufficient to warrant a suspension at that point. There was a reference to additional information over the weekend so perhaps that was what triggered the suspension now. We really don't know enough at this stage. It seems that some MPs were going to use Parliamentary Privilege to name the presenter, news reports suggesting they are now holding back in light of the person's lawyers intervening.

A genuine welfare interest (odd way to go about it using a tabloid) or simply £’s? Will any MP use parliamentary privilege to expose the presenter? Disgraceful if they do at this stage.
