I just don’t see the point. He might be good for another season or two but he won’t have a resale value after that. Besides we’re already all struggling to decide who would be the first 11. Brown , Marquis and Collins to start so not sure how JCH would even fit in. Not discrediting him as a striker I think he’s excellent. If we were to buy him for a million and he scored 30 goals gaining us promotion to the championship, I personally wouldn’t give a damn about resale value. The value would be in what he gave us on the pitch

I think JCH and Barton would clash JCH has that touch of arrogance about him

As much as JCH is an awesome player, he clearly has a bit of an attitude. The success we’ve had in recent years has been born from a squad who are clearly close, working for each other. Personally I think JCH would cause more problems than his goals would solve. But hey, what do I know! 😂

I think the “attitude problem” (which I absolutely recognise) was born out of frustration with his team mates not performing at the same level as him. Which ultimately led to him leaving the club to a club in the same division. I don’t think he’d have that same problem in this squad.

I saw that at times with Elliot Anderson, when he wasn't given the ball he would make his feelings known, which is actually what I loved about him just as much as his ability. JCH the same, he single handedly rescued us at times, nothing wrong with demanding more from your teammates.

This just simply isn't going to happen - Posh would want around £900,000 & JCH would be on £9k a week I would imagine. 1. Our new investors may be rich but smashing our transfer record will not happen immediately 2. JCH isn't a re-sell asset, it would be a big risk 3. He will have Championship offers on the table It's probably got 3% chance of happening. So you're telling me there's a chance...

People are concerned about having the best striker in the league because he might no sell on for a profit in 2/3 years time? Goodness me.
Southampton bought Sir Rickie Lambert for £1m at the age of 28. They sold him for £4m to Liverpool at the age of 32/33. At age 33/34 he went for £3m to West Brom and at 34/35 was sold onto Cardiff.
JCH is only 29 ffs

I will admit, I didn't see Lambert going on to play for England and Liverpool in the Prem.

0.0001% chance of getting JCH, albeit if he was to sign and score 25 goals to get us to the champ then idc if he’s 29 or 89.

I think Southampton was just the right fit at the right time.

JCH isn’t even in my top 5 strikers . His value will go down from here on in .

He was absolute quality the final couple of seasons but he struggled at first. Whereas JCH hit the ground running from the off. JCH's record of 27 goals in 49 games for us in a side that wasn't very creative and pretty dour, is right up there with are other great strikers.

Happy with Loft and Marquis for the centre forward position, so fitness and transfers notwithstanding not fussed about signing another one.
If there is any funds left in the pot I'd have to agree with those hoping for a defensively minded midfielder considering Finley's disciplinaries and Rossiter's injuries.

UTG If we end up having to rely upon Loft for any period of time we won’t be contending at the top end of the table. Nothing personal against him but imo he’s mid table league two standard.
