Footballer wants to play football shock headlines!
Better than footballer pulling wages for getting splinters in his arse!
Some people can’t win.
Good luck to Belly, served well and if his ambition is to be out on the grass every Sat at 3pm best wishes to him and I hope he finds it.

Disappointing but if he isn’t happy playing then it’s fair enough, he would be better off elsewhere.
This is probably how he ended up signing for us in the first place TBH!

He wants to remove his wage from the wage. What's not to like?

What is it with offering players new contracts then trying to get rid of them shortly after. First Trev Clarke and now Belshaw.

There are 2 sides to every story. Belly is living away from his wife and new born baby with the prospect of just being a bench warmer. After the first contact someone should have communicated with him about the situation and they didnt - that was why he needed to chase. As the saying goes - " A week is a long while in football"

You would have thought it could have been discussed in the training office as I assume he still trains with us

It seems to suggest it wasn't discussed in the week after the agent mentioned it.

As the saying goes - " A week is a long while in football" Football is hardly a 9 to 5, 5 days a week job, I assume he sees as much as family as most people who work in a normal job, although I don't get why JB doesn't just accept it's better all round if he finds another club, TC finding a new club seemed to be have working out OK until his recent injury.

Bit strange how Belly requested a loan rather than a permanent move back nearer home. Maybe feels he couldnt get a better deal elsewhere ?

Plenty of reasons; I would guess a loan is easier to arrange than a transfer He may not really want to go, so an injury or loss of form for Cox, could see him back if the loan had a release clause Rovers may want a few He might have to take a pay cut Could be more?

Release clauses, apart from in January, are a thing of the past for loans to league clubs. I doubt Belshaw would get a better offer elsewhere, lower league football doesn't seem to work like that. If Belshaw's agent asked for a loan move on the first day of the new season, why wasn't that issue dealt with when they returned to training following the match, if it had been then Belshaw wouldn't have needed to ask the same question last Saturday?

It’s been obvious Belly and Barton have had words after one of his clangers last year. I remember the interview when JB started hinting at threats.
My money is on he gave a bit back and undermined him, plus not being really a top keeper in league 1, Joey is making an example.
Good managers always get bad influences out and quickly. Sir Alex had zero compassion or tolerance for it. It didn’t matter who you were or what you had done, argue with Fergie and you were out the door.
Barton’s ethos is about teamwork and effort. There’s a reason why loft is still here getting chances and belly hasn’t. My money is on JB gives you ample opportunity if you train well and support your colleagues.
Harvey Saunders a good example of a guy who got chances, didn’t take them and we shook hands and said goodbye. Nothing like belshaw, who JB has tried to get rid of from the middle of last season.

Get him off the wage bill, last season was disastrous! Cox doesn’t slow the play down like him, also didn’t spend Saturday turning around and clapping. Most overrated keeper I’ve seen, similar standard to Will Puddy.

Where is the link to the clip ? I have only heard Joey say there were hopefully two more players coming in by the end of next week, if that happens then he would be able to decide who will be actually leaving, or words to that effect. Belshaw sometimes lets his emotions get the better of him - says the man who has just spent the first 3 games banned.

I thought the issue was Belshaw wanting to leave not JB wanting Belshaw to leave?
