Bit strange how Belly requested a loan rather than a permanent move back nearer home. Maybe feels he couldnt get a better deal elsewhere ? Plenty of reasons; I would guess a loan is easier to arrange than a transfer He may not really want to go, so an injury or loss of form for Cox, could see him back if the loan had a release clause Rovers may want a few He might have to take a pay cut Could be more? Yes I can easily see why he would rather go out on loan. If we signed for someone else permanently, its most likely he will not be offered the same wage as he is on now. If he goes out on loan, however, he will still get his wages. Its then up to the two clubs to decide if the team taking him will pay 100% of the wages (which is unlikely) or what the percentage they will pay with us paying the rest. Plus there would be a recall option if Cox got injured or Brentford recalled him. I am still a bit unsure what the plan is for when Cox is on international duty? Although we must be at that point now where we will have enough players called up that we can call games off now? Cox, Vale and I assume Hoole will all still get call up's?

There are no recall options under the present loan rules.

It’s been obvious Belly and Barton have had words after one of his clangers last year. I remember the interview when JB started hinting at threats. My money is on he gave a bit back and undermined him, plus not being really a top keeper in league 1, Joey is making an example. Good managers always get bad influences out and quickly. Sir Alex had zero compassion or tolerance for it. It didn’t matter who you were or what you had done, argue with Fergie and you were out the door. Barton’s ethos is about teamwork and effort. There’s a reason why loft is still here getting chances and belly hasn’t. My money is on JB gives you ample opportunity if you train well and support your colleagues. Harvey Saunders a good example of a guy who got chances, didn’t take them and we shook hands and said goodbye. Nothing like belshaw, who JB has tried to get rid of from the middle of last season. You've then got to ask your self the question "Why is he still here?". It kind of sounds like that break up thing "I don't want you, but I don't want anyone else to have you". He should be set free by the end of the month.

There are no recall options under the present loan rules. There kind of is. Both parties have to agree to cancel the loan. With the power dynamic between us and Brentford (yes, I really did say that), there is no way we would not agree to anything they wanted. In fact, the wise loan contract would say "If you refuse to cancel a loan on request, you will pay 100% of the player wages plus the insurance for that player". Which of course would scare any side into agreeing the cancellation.

Very honest interview from Barton. I will always be a Belly fan, but he's obviously burnt his bridges here, I wish him well in getting the number one jersey at a decent club. Same Wonder if we think Hall could come in for Cox when out with England. Assume we would look for an emergency loan if out for any length of time I agree, with Belshaw you know he is a number 1, Cox will be on England duty, might get injured, the fella we brought in last season was terrible, during what turned out to be a losing streak.

I thought the issue was Belshaw wanting to leave not JB wanting Belshaw to leave? That’s recent. Joey gave a post match interview when he said words to the effect of “some of our players who might be certain fans favourites should be aware they are not secure in their jobs and can be out the door pretty quickly” The wanting to leave bit is the consequences of this.

Where is the link to the clip ? I have only heard Joey say there were hopefully two more players coming in by the end of next week, if that happens then he would be able to decide who will be actually leaving, or words to that effect. The link is in jongas1 last post Must admit having now listened to JBs clip there is unfortunately no way back; although I do understand Belshaws frustration, after all a Saturday in football is a working day, he didn't wake Joey up on a Sunday morning.

I maybe wrong here but I expect he would have been on the bench that day, he should have left it to after the game

At best you imagine any manager will say, let's talk about it after the match at training on Monday. What I don't get is what happened between Saturday and Saturday. Did Barton and Belshaw/Belshaws agent not talk?

I don't understand why Belshaw didn't knock on the manager's office door one day after traiining, in the week between the two requests which were made on sonsecutive Saturdays. I like Belly, however, the 2nd request by himself on matchday, almost seems as though he's looking to be disruptive, when he would have had an opportunity to discuss it during the week. I think it's probably in Eddie Jenning's hands now anyway.

End of the day belly and Barton clearly don’t like each other that’s fairly obvious. Barton manager so only ever 1 out come Belly out simple !

So Belly and his agent have to find a club willing to guarantee him starting EVERY game, and a clause in the contract stating he can refuse to sit on the bench if dropped, and immediately placed on the transfer list.
Best of luck with that....

I think these things go on at every club every other day. The difference is if you put a microphone in front of our manager he'll tell you about it!
