I can't see any official announcement.
The problem I see is if there is some last minute glitch (we don't have a secretary so things do go wrong - YTS Steve Bailey not fully registered circa 1982, so when he played we had two point deduction), will any Joey Twitter announcement put egg on the clubs faces.
Although Joey will know more about verbal done deals, does he know the intricacies of football "rules".
At present although it is 98% certain there have been other examples - Clive Platt. We don't want the alleged KM type leaks all over again.
Nothing should be announced until it is signed sealed and delivered.

Oh well, I guess if people can’t see the problem with the manager releasing club information first on his own subscription Twitter account and what it now says about our club and what they think of our fans including the debacle of the South Stand then having an alternative opinion seems a bit pointless nowadays. None so blind…. UTG! It's a changing world we live in. I know it can be difficult for older people to adapt  Speak for yourself my good friend! Some of us old buggers are quite happy to accept things like this as we appreciate it’s a “changing world”, unfortunately the Barton bashers just use it as more ammunition against him. I find it very strange how they accept Twitter rumours by unknown twitterers, get all excited about it and then when our manager confirms it on his Twitter subscribers account, slag him off when they know full well it will be in the full twitter domain as it was in this case in no time at all. Who knows perhaps the club asked him to save them the trouble of compiling a drawn out tease on twitter. Perhaps those bashers would like to see the club ban him from attending another three games for this, or as we know in some cases get rid of him. Be careful of what you wish for I say. As far as I am concerned these are exciting times for our club, we are definately not ragbag Rovers anymore and I for one appreciate the ambition of our owners and manager and hope their dreams and mine come to fruition in the near future. |

And another thread begins it's tortuous journey as it morphs into something completely different! now i believe we have signed a rather promising young player from Chelsea FC, ? a person named Cantankerous gas said so ,Rovers have not officially announced it but Chelsea social media seem to confirm it so welcome to Rovers young man ,hope your time with us is exciting and fruitful for you and Rovers, good luck!

I know it can be difficult for older people to adapt Perhaps you’re right and you young whipper-snappers wouldn’t know the difference between right and wrong if it came up and kicked you in the ****. I've never known a window like this for calibre of player signed. We've also never had a manager that can attract such high profile Loans from the top clubs. They must all really trust / like JB. I don't believe there is anyway we get 2 of the best up and coming English youngsters into our club under any other manager. Like him or loathe him we are in exciting times 🙌 |

for me it's just another example of who is in charge of anything at the club right now? Seems to be a complete disconnect throughout the club really? just because a guy got sacked from his job in sales suddenly the club is in disarray.think you maybe running out of straws I haven't suggested the club is in disarray, but i do wonder who is co-ordinating anything? There is clearly a problem with club communications ( and lack there of) whether it's the twitter admin doing daft stuff, Joey announcing signings. David "don't believe the rumours" Bright Are CEO is doing an interview with some rando. I wonder if any of the questions people want answered will be allowed to be asked or will it be a fluff piece. replies turned off because well... |

Just screams of even more Barton bashing to me! But each to their own. We've just signed a very good, young, exciting Footballer with top pedigree and people still criticise the manager. Have we? I have seen no announcement from the club Thousands of people are going to be totally gobsmacked when the club announce it - no idea that this was happening. Can I ask what FOMO is? |

I'll be absolutely amazed - shocked - if he's even close to being as good as the Geordie Maradona. But we need a reality check - he was a once in a lifetime player (for a club at our level at the time). To mention his name in the same sentence as this new chap is surely just going to set him up to fail.
For me - I'll be over the moon if he has the same level of impact (albeit in a different position) as Taylor.
IMO, that's the sort of loan player we should be discussing as a yard-stick for success.

If the media team have spent time doing a reveal video which they have got very good at then people will say, that's a waste of time now, why bother. Wael basically announced it on Instagram, before Barton and Barton liked Wael's post. So can the board moan, that Barton then tweeted about it, after that?? Is it okay to think that neither of them should be doing this and it’s all a bit “look at me” attention seeking. I felt the same when McAnthony tweeted the JCH reveal video after Posh signed him. |

BWG it is all about the control of the club and information coming out of the club. There are some (rightly or wrongly) that believe that this is the clubs news to break and they follow the club to get that information. However, it seems like it is JB news to break and to follow JB, they need to pay. Of course, in the end they get the news. Personally, I have no problem with JB having a X feed behind a pay wall. I probably do if he is selling the clubs content (which I think is the allegation here). If JB was doing a replay of Saturdays game and then doing an analysis of each play (we created a pivot or double pivot) and stopped the game to show the formation and how the positional play was then I would say fair play (I might even subscribe to learn a bit more about tactics). However, getting people to subscribe by being the first to break club news. It just doesn't feel like that is the kind of content he should be selling. for me it's just another example of who is in charge of anything at the club right now? If we continue to play as well in the league when he is not at the stadium, maybe not a bad shout! "we are definately not ragbag Rovers anymore" What world are you living in.
