Isnt it funny how after a great win.The JB Haters disappear and the amount of posts go down. Feel sorry for all these so called supporters. No, it's not funny. It's shows that JB haters are 100% Rovers fans. They enjoy a good performance and a 4-1 win just like everyone else. They call it as it is to them that this was the first home win of the season and that the number of home wins in 2023 has been unacceptable. We played well yesterday. I throughly enjoyed the game and how we played. We passed about with it less at the back and got the ball forward far quicker than any other home game this year. I am disappointed in any fan that feels the need to ask where the haters are when we win and ask where the lovers are when we lose. For me, I said let's give him 20 games to make the decision if he has a future with us. Two wins in a row, that feels good right now. We have some tricky games coming up, let's see where we are after those. For me, success after 20 games is looking up, not looking over our shoulders. Within 3 points of the playoffs and I will be happy.

I’d also value JB’s judgement versus the few on here that slagged off Evans continuously, wanting him shipped out and those that claimed Thomas wasn’t much good so we shouldn’t have re-signed him. Probably our two best performers so far this season. I will hold my hands up and say I was very critical of Evans last season especially his dead ball delivery. Alot of that I think was down to being played out of position and was short of confidence. He has certainly turned it around this season and that's possibly due to being played more centrally and more forward. I have always valued JBs judgement he knows so much more than some of the experts on here and I can't remember anyone he has let go that you look back and say that was a mistake. Brandon Hanlan?

JB is our Manager and a bloody good one. I will support him and the team every game. Why do we give him 20 games to make a decision whether he has a future with us? That is pathetic and not a supporter of the team. Why not just enjoy the ride and give him 46 games. He has put together a squad that all round is the best in 20 years at least and during his tenure has cleared out all the rubbish and none of the players he has got rid of would get anywhere near the current squad. A season is 46 games so lets see where we are come May.To get rid of JB would be an absolute disaster.

Brandon Hanlan? fall down hanlan. Wycombe wanted someone on the cheap and got him. Only way his career is going and that's down the greasy pole. Never be more then a mid to lower div1 player

I think Steve's point is that those who dislike JB and want him out (a very valid opinion) are very vocal when we lose or don't play well, but largely quiet when we do well, giving him no credit whatsoever.

If after putting together the best squad we have had in 20 years, after 20 games we are facing a relegation battle then we should continue to back the manager?

We won yesterday, all fans would've enjoyed that. However, the facts are that we haven't won many at home in the whole of the year. Barton lovers seem happy with only winning 3 league home games this year. Barton haters are (IMHO) saying that is not good enough. One swallow doesn't make a summer (unless you are a 16 Yr old).

A season is 46 games so let’s see where we are come May.To get rid of JB would be an absolute disaster. You may be right about JB. He’s had a great half season in League 2 and a decent enough one last term to avoid any relegation fight. This season he’s collected a decent squad that he’s just about (on the last two games) getting to play together. I’ve only watched two decent matches at Pompey and Charlton live and followed the others electronically and I’ve said on here that he needs to do something about our home form because It’s woeful and most teams have sussed out how to play us to frustrate, waste time and generally stop our decent players. When JB has worked out what to do against these teams we should do better. But we’ve got to get away from the idea that JB cannot be criticised and that those who do are ‘Barton-haters’. It’s nonsense, all are BRFC fans, wanting us to do well but they just have an opinion that may be different from others. Play on the front foot, at a quicker pace (like yesterday and not at a snail’s pace like we did against Wycombe) then there would probably be little to criticise. Won’t always happen but a quicker pace, more attacking use of the players we’ve recruited consistently would be good. Im hoping that because of the difference between Leagues 1 and 2 players like Evans, Finley, Hoole, and others are now beginning to feel more comfortable and able to influence play more in League 1, surrounded by better players. Well done JB and the team yesterday, you’ve set yourselves a standard to maintain, let’s hope they can. UTG!

Perhaps, though, others would prefer a dullard playing typical L1 football.

Passing it around the back with no urgency. Yesterday was the first game we didn't do that. The possession stats show that. You know? It worked! Yes, I want to see exciting football. Yes, this squad should be able to deliver it. Doesn't stop any manager being accountable for their results though does it?

The problem being that in 2023, it has been too easy for the 'Barton Haters' to make comments about our bad performances and bad results. It has been too easy for the 'Barton Lovers' to dismiss it as 'Barton Haters'. Rather than actually taking a step back and asking themselves the question: "Are these acceptable performances and results?" The Hater/Lover thing is clouding what is actually happening on the pitch and within the club. My post said that after 20 games, we are 3 points off the playoff then I would be happy. So, would anyone (given that most agree that this is the best squad for years) be happy with a relegation battle after 20 games?

It’s as simple as this:
Rovers lose: Match thread flooded with negativity, Barton bashing, sarcastic posts etc….the return of those not seen since the last defeat.
Rovers win: Said certain posters nowhere to be seen.
It’s just fact.
Most of us are here in any weather🤓☝🏼

Rovers win: Said certain posters nowhere to be seen. It’s just fact. Most of us are here in any weather🤓☝🏼 That would be the same with any manager. Football is an emotional sport. Some on here think we are destined for the champions league if we win one game. Some on here think we are destined for the Downs league if we lose a game. No need to try and label people. I am not happy with the appointment of JB. I think he has done things (and has been punished) and he has done things (and not been punished) that is too much baggage for me. However, we are where we are. Like any other manager, he needs to deliver the tactics and the performances on the pitch. He did that yesterday and long may that continue.
