Fully enjoyed that.
Like mentioned elsewhere, Big John playing make sure a difference, plus the energy of a younger back line.
With Friend and Wilson they take the extra touch. Grant was so assured and Vale gave us forward impetus.
Programmes sold out by 2.15 again though, so had to trek around the stadium to get one. Surely if they know we are going to get 8,100 plus gates, they should print more. The demand is there, so it is literally printing money.
Plus they can advertise Pirate Pots in the programme, which still is not up and running.
Programmes and 50/50s come as a package, so how many lost 50/50 sales do we miss out on as the programmes have sold out.

My attitude completely. Perhaps, though, others would prefer a dullard playing typical L1 football. I want some of whatever you are taking. Up to yesterday, the football we have played this season has been really dull. Passing it around the back with no urgency. Yesterday was the first game we didn't do that. The possession stats show that. You know? It worked! Yes, I want to see exciting football. Yes, this squad should be able to deliver it. Doesn't stop any manager being accountable for their results though does it? Yesterday was much better in terms of getting it forwards and engaging their back line. But if we were watching the same game, we absolutely did pass it around the back 4 with no urgency-for spells. During those spells, the movement from players ahead is abysmal...hence the passing. But a few times Vale, Thomas and Collins did drop or hug the touchline and receive the ball which made us an attacking force! If you put yourself (not you, 3rd person) in the boots of the opposition, a team playing flat passes in front of you is an easy game. So when we do that, they simply flow across the pitch then defend in numbers when we play a rare pass forwards. Yesterday was better, slick diagonal passing and attacking wingers. Evans, Collins and Thomas actually ran at defenders and turned them. We need to do more of yesterday's attacking and less of the CBs playing triangles with the GK...unless we are 3-0 up.

It’s as simple as this: Rovers lose: Match thread flooded with negativity, Barton bashing, sarcastic posts etc….the return of those not seen since the last defeat. Rovers win: Said certain posters nowhere to be seen. It’s just fact. Most of us are here in any weather🤓☝🏼 That would be the same with any manager. Football is an emotional sport. Some on here think we are destined for the champions league if we win one game. Some on here think we are destined for the Downs league if we lose a game. No need to try and label people. I am not happy with the appointment of JB. I think he has done things (and has been punished) and he has done things (and not been punished) that is too much baggage for me. However, we are where we are. Like any other manager, he needs to deliver the tactics and the performances on the pitch. He did that yesterday and long may that continue.

I think Steve's point is that those who dislike JB and want him out (a very valid opinion) are very vocal when we lose or don't play well, but largely quiet when we do well, giving him no credit whatsoever. We won yesterday, all fans would've enjoyed that. However, the facts are that we haven't won many at home in the whole of the year. Barton lovers seem happy with only winning 3 league home games this year. Barton haters are (IMHO) saying that is not good enough. One swallow doesn't make a summer (unless you are a 16 Yr old).

Whens the pitchside ‘matchday moments’ vid out? It’s going to be a banger. Notice on the highlights lad with the camera was right on the spot for every goal, can’t wait to see it.

I think we also have to distinguish the posters with an agenda against JB for the non football person he is. Thay will hate whatever. So it s a personal thing. Me , ok I'm not exactly full of praise for his off field antics of the past , but am willing to recognise his managerial skills seperatly. We need to understand he's been a league one manager now for 6 out of 7 seasons , what are the expectations now , what should he have learnt? I ,btw sit in the cautious camp. Haters/ lovers is too patronising , many can be critical but dont hate him. Anyway , a cracking win yesterday , more of the same please

Just got back.. Wow what a funny day all round and great to see some old faces, one in particular it might be first time this century! Nice to catch up, T ... in the usual haunt I probably saw you last time!? Oh how the cider flowed... And the reprobates too! A beautiful sunglasses day - which would've come in handy on East side at times, but nay, all around the place with our dazzling approach play. I particularly liked the just stop satan protests at the end of filton ave/glos rd. Muchas better than trying to stop oil....try doing that in deepest winter! And, even in winter, just try stopping our juggernaut of fast flowing free thought football? Which leads us into anyhoos, onto something less important: Yep I guess by technical k o, Hunt deserved m o m with a goal and assist. He did have a wonderful match. Worthy winner. Great goal at important time. But....that didn't tell half the story. So many upped their game from what I saw last time round, including my personal m o m, Sam Finley. I thought he was the much improved player. Dogged and determined, his midfield prowess was just how we remember him. First to the ball and hungry... dangerous. Never allowed them to settle and was instrumental in is dominating the mid. Nice assist too, more alert and quick to the ball for Aaza to cooly finish Also, ably supported and another power performance from Bogarde So we went to a back 3.... lovely contribution there from Josh Grant. Mopped up everything, good link with HV and looking very natural in that place. Jewel in crown, CT for me...Wyke had a lucky deflection when we mistakenly thought keeper was fouled but apart from that, he had Wyke in his pocket.... extremely quiet game from him. Lovely contribution from LT and cut in and finish - wish he would try that more often - that got us going. With the run of play, at the time. Just a delight to see Aaza enjoy his football again!? Took his goal well and linked up with JM whom rolled back the years in true centre forward fashion to score a header(?) What's that all about? .... courtesy of a much improved, much more forward AE. Excellent match from him. Whether Wigan had issues, (I know Humphries was kind of disciplined) or injuries , but they rarely turned up and if you were a neutral, you'd probably think we were the championship team last season. On this display, may be we will next? So.......is something starting to click? Has JAB started unlocking some of the potential? With Wilson, Krama, Woods, Brown just a few names waiting in the wings, the long season some may have dreaded potentially look very appealing with this form. Do we dare to dream? UptheGas! Unless I wandered into the wrong stadium it looked very much like a back four.
