I hope it doesn't turn into the JB v DC show and a bad journalistic face off leading up to the game when we play them.
It like comparing Birmingham v Walsall.
With all the resources Rovers now have, we should easily beat them.
Would be interesting to see the respective budgets, but would not be surprised if ours is twice the size, if not more. On top of that he has to raise their non existent confidence.
DC is a legend but he definitely has his work cut out.

Have we not played DC sides in Walsall and Port Vale since he left us, can’t remember any bad journalistic face offs from those games.

Good luck to him, aside from against us. Give him a chance to get his mojo back.

If he keeps them up , does that mean they'll be getting the party poppers out?

A real shame we don’t play them in the league till December 9th, their current form plus our showing last week, we’d have stuck at least 9 into them.

Great quote from Darrell Clarke"I like what I do, and I like what I say".

Think I would want Clarke to succeed in pretty much any job with the exception of City.

Personally think he should wait for something better and I don’t really want to want Chelts to do well, but good luck to him He will have a mortgage and bills like the rest of us. Good luck DC.

If they’ve gone in for DC with a view to build something over the next few years regardless of whether they stay up this season then I can’t think of a better signing for them. If it’s to keep them up or the sack then probably not so good for him or them based on his time with us anyway. Good luck to him.

In 2014, in a place called Bristol, I saw a football club in its death throes. I saw fan base ready to turn their backs, and a team ready to run. Then one man took a step to his front and steadied the line. That’s him, that man. You have to thank your lucky stars we had him.

A good catchment area to pick up the best young Midlands talent.
How old are the two youngsters we sold to Villa a few years ago?

I wish DC every success and I hope he can perform some more miracles at Cheltenham. I can’t believe any gas fan wouldn’t. He built something special here and then moved on when he’d done as much as he could. With his players he gave me some wonderful afternoons watching us and delivered some great memories. I also think he was a better manager than some give him credit for. When we were threatening the play-offs in ‘17 he was doing it with many players that he’d had in the Conference. Several games we were playing with 8/9 players who we’d had earlier which tells me he was able to make players better. Good luck to him. 👍

It shows how fragile football management is as I'm sure DC could manage in the Premier League and is one of the best managers in the country. It just takes one or two bad signings and a bad run of form to go from being in demand at a higher level to dropping down a level, or even not getting another chance again

When they sacked Wade DC was the first name that sprang to mind so not surprised by this appointment(I nearly made a thread on it suggesting his name as the forerunner for the job). A good appointment for them and I can see him keeping them up this season.

Love what DC did for us, but he is still to show he can do it above League Two. We had a good first season back in league one 2016-17, but DC struggled thereafter.
I think he's brave to take on a team that sit rock bottom and haven't scored a goal. I personally don't think he can turn that around, but I'd love him to prove me wrong.
