Fake News ... The Mem is being redeveloped. First the South stand and the South West stand next to it will be finished and look pretty good. The Thatchers end will be a two tier seated stand and the gaps- around the East stand will also be covered and seated. West stand will be revamped and refreshed. All this over the next five years max !! Sauce?

Just to stoke this fire a bit more, I overheard a bloke on the phone a few days ago in a brabazon jacket at Charlton Hayes Lidl saying Rovers are trying their hardest to negotiate space with YTL on the airfield.
I’ll choose to believe that, for no other reason than it would be very convenient and a 10-15 minute walk from my house!

East Stand Knock down and and new stand the whole of the east side. 4. West Stand Same as East stand knock down and build a proper football stand the length of the side. Otherwise move to a new ground.

The only thing I could find on Twitter was clearly a joke.
I've had enough of grand stadium plans. Piecemeal redevelopment of the Mem for me. Then we can add to the memories of recent years such as the 7-0 massacre and Browner's right foot in extra time and hopefully carry more players down Gloucester Road.

Anything less than that should only be temporary until other stands are replaced properly.

M32 to become an A road which means new road junctions could be added. Makes a direct road to a UWE stadium possible from the former M32 .

I think it's clear that there's going to be a patch up of the Mem in the medium term as the new stand looks anything but temporary to me. If they do similar at the Thatchers end then that will definitely appear to be the plan.
To be honest, that's what fits our current profile as a club - with a little room for growth.

To go from what were the UWE plans to what are quick build stands would be a big disappointment to me. And would question what the clubs aspirations are. If the South stand isn't temporary, it is still temporary looking. So what was Brightons club profile before they built the Amex, I think they are club that have shown ambition, if the patch up Mem is what we get then sorry it not really good enough in the 21st Century.

Agreed. It does not fit with the owners ambitions for the club to just make do and mend The Mem, as much as many on here would like. Brighton is a good example of what can be achieved. Remember when they played at Withdene. Remember when they were exiled in Gillingham. Similar story to us in some ways so we should not lose sight of that ambition.

Unfortunately, UWE is a dead duck. Plans for new student accommodation on existing car parks, the necessity for replacement car parking and the potential relocation of courses from the Glenside campus to Frenchay are well-advanced. Was worth investigating but three years too late. SGC planning portal will confirm. ( For those who state "source"). Pretty certain if Rover offer enough money they'll soon changed their plans re the accommodation, the Glenside campus move might be an issue if that's earmarked for the same site. The Glenside Campus is moving into one of the old HP buildings. We are pricing the refurbishment of it.

And if my memory is correct the UWE land that the stadium was to be built on was land previously owned by HP.

Don’t understand this statement - you’re saying “We are pricing the refurbishment of it” or are you claiming we are paying for it?

I didn't even realise any of those buildings still existed, where are they with reference to the UWE stadium land? Perhaps the UWE needs Rovers money to help with the refurbishment.
