The Glenside Campus is moving into one of the old HP buildings. We are pricing the refurbishment of it. And if my memory is correct the UWE land that the stadium was to be built on was land previously owned by HP. That was the rumour previously and that it could only be sold only used for "educational" purposes.

Don’t understand this statement - you’re saying “We are pricing the refurbishment of it” or are you claiming we are paying for it? Think pauljlac is saying his company is pricing for the job. Yes, sorry I should have clarified who the "we" are. Yes, the company I work for will be tendering for this contract.

To go from what were the UWE plans to what are quick build stands would be a big disappointment to me. And would question what the clubs aspirations are. If the South stand isn't temporary, it is still temporary looking. So what was Brightons club profile before they built the Amex, I think they are club that have shown ambition, if the patch up Mem is what we get then sorry it not really good enough in the 21st Century. Agreed. It does not fit with the owners ambitions for the club to just make do and mend The Mem, as much as many on here would like. Brighton is a good example of what can be achieved. Remember when they played at Withdene. Remember when they were exiled in Gillingham. Similar story to us in some ways so we should not lose sight of that ambition. Well I'm not really happy about a patch up either, but if that what it is then that's what it is. I believe Brighton were loaned the cost of the Amex interest free by their owner - who made money as a professional gambler - so was not averse to risk. Whilst that bet has clearly paid off for him and Brighton, I don't think anyone is ready to take a similar chance on us.

I didn't even realise any of those buildings still existed, where are they with reference to the UWE stadium land? Perhaps the UWE needs Rovers money to help with the refurbishment. The land is adjacent to the hp buildings, can remember driving over there before a home game and having a nosy just after the UWE stadium plans surfaced.

To me JB seems a bit down in interviews. I wouldnt be surprised if Rovers have contingency plans. I wouldn't want Lampard as manager.

Most of us would have moved on by the time a new Stadium was built.

Managers and players tend not to be very concerned about stadium plans as they expect to have left by then. Training facilities are way more important to them. Rovers have been attracting a better standard of loan player and I don't think that would have happened without the training ground improvements.

I agree fwiw, although there have been some that suggested we'd be better off still renting training facilities. The Quarters are a sound investment for developing players and I look forward to seeing what the new owners have planned.

Fake News ... The Mem is being redeveloped. First the South stand and the South West stand next to it will be finished and look pretty good. The Thatchers end will be a two tier seated stand and the gaps- around the East stand will also be covered and seated. West stand will be revamped and refreshed. All this over the next five years max !! This is exactly what i have been told as well
