Nice to finally hear from our owner and yes on the whole sounded positive. I'm just really confused by our vision though..... So the mem which we've been told time and time again isn't commercially viable but will now become a 16k stadium. How will that generate enough revenue to allow us to progress? I guess it could take you to the champ and then see what happens from there is the vision ? I'd have liked to learn a bit more about why the mem is now viable. “Not financially viable” is code for “don’t have the money to build it” No he made it clear he's going to borrow the money from the banks to pay for it.

The new owners can't afford it either hence why their borrowing the money. I'm sure wael could loan the money to build it on his own if he'd have wanted but he said it wasn't commercially viable.

Keep believing we are going to redevelop the Mem into something fitting of 21st century. This patch up job is exactly the sort of thing why the Teds endlessly have the last laugh at us. FFS.

I mean I find it quite funny that you’re going to write the new owners off after *checks notes* 2 months but wanted to give a bloke who’s been diabolical for us in this division for over 70 games more time.

I'm not writing our new owners off gasdust but I would like it explained why the mem has suddenly now become viable. The unviable tag it was given by wael previously I took to mean the land wasn't big enough to make the site commercially viable for enough revenue streams for us to progress. I don't understand what's changed. Unless he didn't mean that when he said it and it was because he couldn't find the outlay required.

I mean he said that it’s what we were doing as soon as the UWE collapsed the first time and then suddenly it wasn’t. Like I said I dont doubt he could raise the finance but maybe he couldn’t lay it back? These guys are in development, I’d imagine they have some sort of clue about developing stuff

To be fair to the new owner . It sounded like he was apologising when he said it would be a 16k stadium hopefully rising to 18K. He knows himself it won't be enough to sustain Championship football. Singupgas is quite right in what he is saying. I honestly believe we will carry on being a yoyo club between divisions 3 & 4 and in time when these owners realise we are going nowhere they will leave.

They haven't been around for 2 months. Even in their first interview they claimed they were working with Wael on the FM. Why has it suddenly dawned on us to not go through with it. Not writing them off, but saying they are "filling in" stands doesn't fill me with confidence. I hope it was poor english, which is fine, and what we end up with is something that would look respectable in 20 years. We've won again today with Joeys side. This is second season back in league 1. What does the 56 other games have to do with this season, nothing.

I might reading this wrong but you can sustain Champ football with a ground of 16,000, Preston this season are averaging this but for over a decade and more they have been between 12 - 14,000.
Millwall don’t punch hard attendances, Luton, Bournemouth and QPR have been in the Prem with 18,000 Loftus Road.
First step is the Champ, 4 years 🪂 payments with relegation to our league.

I think 16k is plenty for us anyway. Even in the champ we would struggle to fill that imo. Im sure the club would ideally like to build non matchday buildings into a new stadium for non matchday revenue like hotels / restaurants etc which is why I always took it to be that the mem was a no go as there wasn't the room for it.

What was the capacity at the start of this season - about 10,000? They are looking to improve the quality of the ground and increase capacity by 60-70% and you’re writing us off as a league one/league two side forever? Why such negativity? Surely if we have a ground that can hold 17000/18000 and more importantly getting that number through the turnstiles why shouldn’t we be aiming for the top end of the championship?

I have moved on, but if we got relegated you would be saying it was JBs side. My concerns are the possiblity of a patch Job ground and the ability to find a "young, experienced manager", which is an oxymoron itself.

You're either fickle or morally superior, if you can't acknowledge it's Joey's side a couple days after he has gone. Signed all the players you watched today. I hope the club get it right with next appointment now and but also I want the long term future of a club I love to served with best interests to succeed. I expect by the end of the season we will know which way ita going to go.

I sense the negativity is that most of us one day hoped to see Rovers play in a decent stadium, the various owners have been talking about it since we moved to the Mem (and for decades before that) now it's a case of a patched up Mem. If Brentford and Luton, and more recently Oxford, can find plots of land to build a new stadium is really that difficult to find one in Bristol or S Glos? You do wonder how area around the Mem will cope with having double the crowds and, you have to assume, double the cars unless something is spent on decent park & rides etc.

Once you have the seats to fill you can start to incentivise fans. Look at how they do it down the road - free shirts etc with season tickets. It’s all about scale.
