No mate, I'm on about the 3 stand project being talked about. The point I'm making is that lots of people are talking about non match day revenue, but if the new owners plans happen then at the very least we have the potential break even. As you say, we lose 3 Million a year, but 5,000 extra seats would generate at least that much and improve the ground. I can't see why people would bemoan that. 5,000 extra seats won't bring in £3mil. Do the sums, it won't be far off. I did say add in a pie and a pint.

5000 x £25 x 23 games is 2,875,000

At £400 for a ST, 5000 seats would being in 2 Million.

I think 5000 extra expensive seats is very conservative anyway, as 5000 is the minimum increase in overall capacity that's been mentioned. You'd like to think a large amount of the 3 new structures would be seats so more than 5000 seats should be added. If anything ever gets built of course.

I think the key for many is whether this redevelopment will improve the ground’s facilities for supporters not just enlarge the capacity. If the capacity rises to 15,000 by adding a couple of semi permanent stands next to the East stand, it will improve the aesthetic of the ground but we won’t fill it regularly as it won’t be a substantial enough attraction to new fans. If we’re adding new bars, new toilets, making it easier to access the ground, new club shop, improving catering facilities, adding retail space, event space. All these kind of things, then when we raise the capacity, we might actually stand a chance of filling it. Looking forward to seeing what the new owners visions for the ground is when the plans are released to the public.

Listening back to the interview again I didn't realise Mr A suggested yesterday that most of the standing would remain, he also referred to it as "safe standing" when it's clearly not that at all. He also said the new stands would be mainly seating,so I assume that means sticking two semi permanent stands alongside the present East Stand and another one behind the Thatchers End. So basically a bodge job, if we're losing £3m+ a season now I'm not sure just adding capacity to the Mem will suddenly pay for the interest on a £10m+ loan, if we borrow from another wonga type co that's probably £1m+ interest to pay off each year. You have to sense Wael didn't think it was a great idea or he would have done it himself instead of bringing in the new owners.

Rovers already had planning permission for an 18.5k stadium at The Mem and that included travel plans and hardly any parking spaces.

Somebody posted that Carlisle have done something similar, which looks like this; images.app.goo.gl/J7Jt26TmnMu1QHET8If we are now considering doing something similar then hopefully we can at least get the roofs to both align, so it looks like this the one stand rather than stand alone stands. Carlisle have a new stand opposite that one with no pillars!

If it is just semi permanent structures to fill in the gaps then it's a massive cop out and won't progress us as a club at all. Il reserve judgement until the plans are released but there will be a massive backlash if it is a bodge job after stringing us along for 4 years with the fruit market and a lovely new video.
