Listening back to the interview again I didn't realise Mr A suggested yesterday that most of the standing would remain, he also referred to it as "safe standing" when it's clearly not that at all. He also said the new stands would be mainly seating,so I assume that means sticking two semi permanent stands alongside the present East Stand and another one behind the Thatchers End. So basically a bodge job, if we're losing £3m+ a season now I'm not sure just adding capacity to the Mem will suddenly pay for the interest on a £10m+ loan, if we borrow from another wonga type co that's probably £1m+ interest to pay off each year. You have to sense Wael didn't think it was a great idea or he would have done it himself instead of bringing in the new owners. If it is just semi permanent structures to fill in the gaps then it's a massive cop out and won't progress us as a club at all. Il reserve judgement until the plans are released but there will be a massive backlash if it is a bodge job after stringing us along for 4 years with the fruit market and a lovely new video. There's no signs of a massive backlash on here so far? Somebody on the other forum suggested that the video was done to impress the new owners rather than us, perhaps they were right! Wael's now strung fans along twice with new stadium plans, which haven't been viable when first Hani, and now Mr A, looked at the figures. Perhaps Mr A has a more realistic view on what the club can actually afford.

It seems club was sold as the UWE seemed unviable. Then much the same regarding the FM when Mr A took over. I wonder how they are going to fund large transfer fees, cost of Mem changes and losses - is it new investment or to borrow against the Mem?

Looking at the debts other clubs have I bet the new owners couldn't believe their luck when they found one they could buy into with virtually no debts, I've already posted early was JCH's fee etc going to be funded against the Mem, likewise, how can a club with just a top 13 home attendance this season pay a top 8 playing budget, where clubs have a minimum of around 2,000+ fans per match more than have attended Rovers games this season, it sounds like the new manager won't come cheap either.

All I'm saying is if it's anything like those awful Carlisle pics youv posted above then we've been taken for a ride and it's not good enough.

No mate, I'm on about the 3 stand project being talked about. The point I'm making is that lots of people are talking about non match day revenue, but if the new owners plans happen then at the very least we have the potential break even. As you say, we lose 3 Million a year, but 5,000 extra seats would generate at least that much and improve the ground. I can't see why people would bemoan that. 5,000 extra seats won't bring in £3mil. 5000 x £26.10 x 23 games does though?

Good luck to the new manager if he's tasked with filling the redeveloped Mem for a complete season, just getting 5,000 extra fans though the gates for Festive Season games etc will be a good achievement, let alone the other 20 or so games. To do that we'll probably have to offer more £1 for kids etc promotions although there's already the usual reductions for season tickets, kids and seniors etc . Our usual max gate is around 10K/12K so it'll take a massive push to find those 5K extra fans.

I'm sure someone good at CAD could post a picture replicating the East stand each side. Could give a rough idea. Somebody posted that Carlisle have done something similar, which looks like this; images.app.goo.gl/J7Jt26TmnMu1QHET8If we are now considering doing something similar then hopefully we can at least get the roofs to both align, so it looks like this the one stand rather than stand alone stands. Carlisle have a new stand opposite that one with no pillars! Christ that looks like a proper dogs dinner botch up,hope to god we get something way better than that.Good find topper.

If they want to leave the East stand as is, then leave the structure. The envelope can be replaced to match the architecture of the new additions and it would therefore blend in
