I think it was one of those today. We didn't look too bad. Every Burton shot went in. 4-1 was no way reflective of the play. Every stat except goals was in rovers favour. Rovers were on top when the sending off happened. Not sure if it was a straight red or not. Led with his arm but didn't look like he meant it. Ah well. At least we have another game coming up quickly. I think Woods went with his arm in self defence, it was one of those wear the balls sitting at head height and two players running head first at it. Is that really āViolent Conductā. Their player received little more than a slap and jumped to his feet as soon as he saw the red card was out. Really, it looked to me Woods needlessly led with his arm, there's less than zero chance of JB ever getting a red card rescinded when the FA clearly can't stand him. That's another thing we have to just learn to live with.

What this with the players going on holiday for a week? They are pampered enough already!! Looking on the bright side at least they can't get injured on the golf course!

I think the biggest problem here is consistency. Every now and again we see glimpses of how good things could be and this unfortunately gives us as a fan base hope. Weāve spent a lot of money and we have a really good squad on paper, arguably one of the best ever? This brings a lot of expectation that we simply arenāt fulfillingā¦.not on a consistent basis anyway. I do agree though that we could do with a few more āuglyā players to mix it up a bit when we come across the more physical sides. Itās almost like weāve got a footballing Championship sideā¦.but weāre in the wrong bloody league!

Only saw the 2nd half but I genuinely think without the red card we wouldn't have lost that game. I'm not sure Woods has deliberately led with his elbow but it's cost us big time. Up until the 3rd goal we still looked the most likely to score but you can't ship 4 goals and expect to win games. Hopefully a few of the injured players will be back sooner rather than later, if we're serious about challenging the play off places the next 2 home games will need to be the starting point game changed for sure after the sending off, some fans blame Joey for the sending off I expect The buck always stops with the manager, how many needless red cards have players picked up under JB, we've had two in just two away games. Fortunately for JB 6 of our next league/FA Cup games are now at home with only 3 away, so that gives him some breathing space to put a run of decent results together.

Pathetic todayā¦ Totally bullied and intimidated on and off the ball - Burton are crap yet out battled, out manoeuvred and out thought us. Cox - 4 Awful distribution and shot stopping seems beyond him Gibbons -4 - Added little if anything Taylor -5 - At fault for one of the goals not his best game Grant - 5 Seemed unsure at times, poor on the ball Vale -4 Rinsed constantly in first half -looked better in his proper position second half Woods - 5 Not much positive and pathetic Red card Evans - 6 One of the few to have a go at least. Ward -4 Poor distribution added little. Martin -4 - Out bullied by the two central defenders . Collins -5 Assist for the goal and not much else. Sinclair - 4 chance to shine and blew it Of the subs - Only Finley worth a mention Ref -4 L1 Standard - crap decisions Burton 6 - Not good at all - hoodwinked the ref over and over - Can shoot though . Barton - 3 - Why chose Ward over Finley ? Tactics are one dimensional and never accepts the blame. Really have little confidence in him and wouldnāt be sad if he was moved on . I didn't see the game, so thanks for your scores and explanations.

Really disappointing start to the season obviously but Iām convinced we have a strong squad and will turn this around. Those who want JB out tonight who do you want to come in? Is Tisdale free? I swear some of the biggest regular moaners on here are the same ones who preferred life under Higgs struggling to survive at the bottom of league two with the threat of secured loans being called in. Nope but John Eustace would be a great shout. Going to Millwall?

The disease of planned keeper injuries and the total lack of wanting to entertain has truly filtered down to this level.fair play to Burton for their win but like a lot of low block teams they bore the pants of having to watch them.

He knew that - he tried to sign the best one in the league and some muppet failed to fill out a form properly and on time. Not happy with how the seasons gone and heās now on borrowed time but the club has failed him by failing to get that signing over the line. He had more than enough time!! We shouldnāt have been in the situation where we chased one player all transfer window, only to cock up at the last minute! We sold our striker (although you could argue Loft was his worst signing) leaving us with an unfit, old immobile forward til January Whose fault was that? Looking very much like repeated JB errors in recruitment in the right areas for me! Only opinions though Would love him to prove me wrong UTG As far as Iām aware the only explanation for the failure to sign JCH came from McAnthony and Ferguson at PāBoro and they both said it was an administrative failing at our end. I donāt see how that is JBās fault - perhaps Iām wrong and the other 91 managers all do the form filling and system updates themselves? Genuine question. How would you have dealt with the JCH transfer any differently? Would you have given JCH a deadline of say a week before the window closes and then move on to lesser targets? If so and JCH then signed for one of our rivals and started banging them in for fun Iām sure JB would have been accused of throwing his toys out of the pram and screwing up our chances of securing the best striker in the division for a new transfer record. Iāve heard some people say we should have had a back up plan but Iāve no idea how that would work. Would it mean Joe Bloggs, a striker who is under contract at say Preston is told to put his career on hold and sit on standby in case the JCH deal falls through at the last minute. If the JCH deal does go through we just leave Joe Bloggs high and dry sat in the reserves at Preston. If only signing players was as easy as it is on those modern computer games! Re Loft - Iād have let him leave and tried to re-sign Adam Cunnington as an upgrade.

Let's hope we appeal and get it rescinded I think weād fail but I still donāt think it should have been a red. The football authorities love loads of cards being issued and seeing games decided by officials. They donāt give a stuff about most matches now being ruined for the paying fan (Iām not just saying this because weāve just had a couple of reds as most prem games I watch seem to be ruined by red cards). The referees should be trying to keep players on the pitch and keeping an even contest and an entertaining event for its spectatorās. Players should only be getting sent off for very serious and dangerous actions.

I never listened to the match today but I was getting the alerts on the BBC Sport App depressing enough! Itās not looking too good at the moment but itās still early days without stating the bloody obvious we are in desperate need of a proper striker/goal scorer thatās whatās costing us, sort that and weāll be up there challenging

That's another thing we have to just learn to live with. Anyone who has played football should be able to tell the difference between a player going out to ādo someoneā and someone who is looking to avoid injury. For example, look at the John Fashanu challenge on Gary Mabbutt that destroyed his face and left him with a permanent disability. That was a clear case of someone clearly intent on leading with an elbow to cause injury. Woods and the. burton player were running head on to an aerial challenge, I think Woods was a bit fearful of a head injury and raised his arm. It was not a swinging arm or pointing of the elbow. I donāt know whether we will appeal. I suspect the club will think itās harsh but the FA/EFL will always side with the ref unless itās a ridiculous error. Itās just what the authorities do.

Another example of the footballing authorities taking the p1ss out of the paying supporters. Every match a designated player (always the keeper as it gives the ref no choice but to stop the game) goes down injured to allow a team talk. Perhaps it would stop if when a player is getting treatment all the other players must stand in the centre circle?
