Great attitude from all the players to keep the points in the second half... impressive defending. Well done Andy Mangam 🙂

First time watching a lot of those players.
Thought Cox and Grant looked OK.
Wasn't particularly impressed with either centre half.
Friend looked poor and Brown was awful.
A win is a win, especially in those conditions so I won't be too harsh, but if today was typical of how Bartons team has played at home this season I can understand why he was sacked.

Second half display was the worst of the season. Can’t have mangan in charge for too long the players looked lost and no direction. Being 2-0 up against a poor team at home was hoping we could play with some freedom second half. A better league one team would have stole at least a point from us today second half Disagree. 1st half on Tuesday was the worst of the season.

The win was everything today.
A point more gained than super duper City so far, having played the same number of games.

Overall a poor game in very poor conditions, second half I think seeing the game out without any injuries was the priority with the pitch the way it was any turn could have led to a rolled ankle.
The bright patch in the first half was good not only because the two goals but mostly the directness, there's a lot of passing it around at the back but in th final third we looked for quick direct plays to ask questions of the defence, at the level you ask questions and opportunities will come.
All in all looking forward to see how we play in the next few games.

Interested to know how you see the centre backs over the next few weeks. Crama looked good before his injury but struggled earlier in the week imo. Taylor has been one of the only form players recently and looks better (particularly with the ball) than when he was last with us imo.

Yeah, it's very harsh to judge on just one game, especially in that weather and with a new manager I'm charge. Definitely not writing anyone off.

Crama was poor , seems to switch off or over play and get caught with the ball . Thought Connor Taylor was ok . Friend wasn’t great but he’s hardly played . Brown would be much better playing in the hole behind a front two I reckon , looks a bit lost out wide.

On the ball they are the best we've had in memory (acknowledging that the games changed a lot). Will not hesitate to play a pass which keeps the tempo up (unless there are zero options).

Magnificent attitude from the players today. Some nervy mistakes early on, but we were never going to lose that one.
Crowd superb.
Northampton tried to play and good on them for doing so.
Ref a little lenient, but overall very good.
Happy days and The Mem is becoming a fortress again.

We won the game! Who cares if it wasn’t great second half. Reckon we’d have lost that under Joe. Agreed. Although I’ve heard and read that we were awful in the 2nd half many times in the last couple of hours I only half agree with that. We were poor with the ball but defended Brilliantly other than one set piece.

The win was crucial, thought we mixed it up more, and went long ball a few times, less tippy tappy at the back, which I like as it makes me nervous.
Not great conditions to play in, thought it was a strange atmosphere at the start with a few Joey Barton songs, but thankfully we moved on from that, and atmosphere improved.
Nice to see the huddle at the end, and so pleased to see LT out there once more.
Think the caretakers are decent, so no rush to appoint, as long as we have a plan for January transfer window.

Still unbeaten at home?
With everything going on this week the performance was far from the priority, the win was a must and in those conditions you’ll never see a slick beautiful victory.
One point to add, regardless of the moaning tosspots around me I thought the young keepers handling was superb and made a couple of very crucial stops in both halves, doing well to gather some tricky efforts from the busy Northampton forwards. The ‘poor kicking’ was clearly a tactic, long grass cutters into the target man on the deck, just a shame big John can’t hold a candle to Martin in the holding it up & helping it on department.

We’ve lost once at home with three wins and three draws. Home only table has us 11th in the table with a game or two in hand 👍

Did you watch it, or were you over in Cardiff ? Unfair to call him a shithead . He’s entitled to his opinion, personally I was delighted with how we attacked in the first half and disappointed with our play in the 2nd but pleased that we defended so well in the 2nd half, we weren’t as open but didn’t need to be because we were 2-0 at half time. It was mostly a scrappy game in poor conditions so In a way it was shocking.

Thought it was a good game in terrible conditions, let alone an awful drive home……. Poor little man refused to wear his coat, he wont be making that mistake again. Good effort all over the park, some nice play in the first half, some of Evans balls were a delight to watch. Also better to see more urgency. Main thing is the three points, agree with others on Mangan, great interview in what must be a horrible position for him, probably expecting to be out of a job shortly and most likely tainted by other clubs due to his involvement with Barton. On another note, has Jennings gone ?
Forgot to add, I thought the ref had a great game considering the conditions, actually let the game flow and rarely blew up, can we have him every week?
UTG!
