Simply a great day, team performance, brilliant response from the fans as well.
So encouraged by the new owners vision, proper management structure, I feel emotional, genuine hope for the future, can’t wait to see the new Mem and club take shape.

Did you watch it, or were you over in Cardiff ? Unfair to call him a shithead . He’s entitled to his opinion, personally I was delighted with how we attacked in the first half and disappointed with our play in the 2nd but pleased that we defended so well in the 2nd half, we weren’t as open but didn’t need to be because we were 2-0 at half time. It was mostly a scrappy game in poor conditions so In a way it was shocking. I didn’t, but his posts in the past tend to show his leaning to South of the River, he never backs up his argument. The game wasn’t shocking at all today, the weather maybe, last week at Burton was shocking. |

Just saw on the highlights that Martin did a cheeky flick for his goal - I couldn't see that from my end of the West stand. Nice.

That reminded me of a guy behind me appealing for the ball going out over by the new small stand, nobody else was, you can’t see the touch line from where we are opposite side on the East Terrace……shouting and screaming about the lino. People are odd! |

Have you seen the south stand, we are talking about filling in gaps around the ground.. it is obvious we don't have the money to build anything decent. |

First of all they have spoken and stated their plans, no grey areas or us guessing. They are also going to do a proper management structure, no manager should control the club from top to bottom, even friends on the board like the army major who can be biased towards them. I’d love a new stadium, like Oxford’s proposed new one but Bournemouth, Burnley, Luton have shown you can get to the promised land with a half decent stadium. I will worry about the rest if we make it to that one day and perhaps then a billionaire will buy us?! Tonight I am happy, we will now see a proper scouting structure for sure and I’m guessing a proper DOF/Head of Football operations |

Magnificent attitude from the players today. Some nervy mistakes early on, but we were never going to lose that one. Crowd superb. Northampton tried to play and good on them for doing so. Ref a little lenient, but overall very good. Happy days and The Mem is becoming a fortress again. UTFG 🏴☠️💙 I thought the referee was very good. Lenient yes, but for both sides. |

Interested to know how you see the centre backs over the next few weeks. Crama looked good before his injury but struggled earlier in the week imo. Taylor has been one of the only form players recently and looks better (particularly with the ball) than when he was last with us imo. Yeah, it's very harsh to judge on just one game, especially in that weather and with a new manager I'm charge. Definitely not writing anyone off. Brown has been poor all season, I expected a better player when he signed. Hopefully he will come good |

Not a classic, but 3 points all the same, we could have been behind early on, then could have been 3 or 4 up at H/T. We will probably play a lot better & lose like Oxford away in the future.
Good to see Luke Thomas back late on, our best player earlier on in the season, also Woods will return after missing the Witby Fa cup match, so we should have a stronger sguad for forthcoming league games. Hard to select a MoM today as everyone put a shift in, but no one outstanding, good to get the game out the way as it must have been a difficult couple of days for the team & back room staff after Barton’s dismissal.

Thought Cox, Brown, Crama and Collins stood out from the starters. Big John Marquis had a good game when he came on, winning a few key free kicks and doing a good job breaking up their pressure from the front. Luke Thomas also flashed a few moments after his introduction.
I think I'd go Cox for MOTM followed by Crama.
We seemed a bit disjointed at times but the moments where it did worked looked very promising.
Northampton reminded me of our play this season, knocked the ball around well but didn't really create a whole lot.

I don’t think any ref could have turned a blind eye to that one and unfortunately his reputation has meant he’s missed out on other decent penalty shouts in the past. For all the criticism he’s got from some people this season, he’s still been involved in a lot of goals and is essential to the team imo. |
