Preferred option but realistically after plans, objections and judicial reviews it's at least five years away.

Mem is going to be a logistical/ infrastructural nightmare if we expect to grow to anything near 20 000 capacity. FM seemed such a progressive option from a town planning perspective. But this is Bristol I guess.

Only worry for me is the revenue opportunities outside of football. Can't see us being allowed to stage concerts etc because of the residents. That's my main concern is that we might be limited on revenue opportunities which we definitely need if we're to be able to progress. I can't see why it'll be any different to Trashton

I don't think there are any other options. The Memorial stadium will be hard to sell to a third party ( almost impossible) . We will have to compromise many things if we did find an alternative site .
Stage 1. Planning for South / west stand granted
Stage 2 continue above around to existing East stand .
Then continue bit by bit season by season. This is why the council / councillors must support the redevelopment programme safeguarding the site for future use .

In the style of the south stand? Or will the South be rebuilt again?

East Stand next then North side. 16-17k capacity Meh. Need a purpose-built facility with good parking, infrastructure and a minimum 20k capacity with further room for expansion.

At least we have made a decision, hopefully we won't flip again and actually get on with it. Wouldn't surprise me if the South Stand is being used as a test case for planning. Time to start a new thread and consign this one to the Legendary Threads section. If this ‘temporary’ south stand is now going to be permanent ( think it was all along ) , I don’t think the the other two stands will be anything plush . Just basic but I guess it’ll do the job.

Strange timing for the news release. Right before the first game after Barton. ??

If each stand is like the new south stand then yes. I think any new stands may well be larger in comparison than the South Stand, the only restriction I see is the slender West Stand (Cricket Pavillion) due to the houses directly behind it

Appears to be no other option. There’s always other options, it’s just we can’t afford them.

New owners: 13 signings since they joined, budget, should be higher in league. Need a fresh face. Nothing to do with Bartons mouth.
Already talking to people.
Want club staff and not managers staff. - that's the most interesting point for me.
No control over rent and finance with fruit market so ditched.
South stand will be finished next month. 2nd stage edges of east stand. 3rd stage thatchers.
Between 16k and 20k.
Already talking to architect, council and locals.
Training ground being increased.
I like him, has a plan .

I fear 'redeveloping the Mem' might be shorthand for effectively doing nothing

Look on the bright side, the local residents will now get what they wanted, to keep the ground as a sports ground for the fallen, the correct decision and I hope they build as big as possible in the space that there is to bring it up to modern facilities, oh I can already see the objections flooding in, one word to describe to the objectors KARMA
