Collins and Brown Players who were front runners in goals scored and assists last season. What are we doing wrong thats got both these highly rated players falling short this season ? Tactics ? Line ups ? Formation ? Leadership ? Brown had a lengthy layoff and also played at a different club last season. Collins seemed to lose his mojo once he was overlooked by Wales.

collins should have been sold for a massive fee in the summer he has been pitiful this season his transfer fee would have fallen 95% after his displays this season Did someone offer a “massive fee” for him in the summer then?

The new gas reporter Hargreaves or however you spell his name is very poor. Continuously gets facts wrong , doesn't seem to know who scores our goals , doesn't realise when players are injured or suspended and the ratings he gives are perpetually incorrect.

Another game where we put in a decent performance but came away with nothing, nice to see Finley back to.his best &. Grant Ward looked good on his return. Still in a decent position in the league considering we played 5 out of the top 6 away & out of the 17 matches so far, only 7 have been at home, hopefully we can start making up ground when we play Leyton Orient at the Mem Tuesday .

Just back to the hotel in Derby, had time to reflect after the crushing blow of losing it late on after getting a deserved equaliser
Great ground. Great atmosphere. Had a bit of friendly but noisy banter with a Derby faithful who have turned up in impressive numbers.
We started very well. Kept them to very few chances. But with a bit of luck we could have converted several chances - Finley over the bar, Martin had a great chance, we hit the post
They score, we don’t give up, score a great glanced header.
Then we just fall asleep and a couple of sloppy errors see another sloppy goal conceded. Top top sides don’t do that late on after getting back into it.
I was proud of the effort and some of the play showed what a good side we can be. We didn’t deserve to lose today.
Only negative for me was Collins. Nudged off the ball, no confidence, poor control, needs to be dropped. Front 3 of Vale, Martin, Thomas.
Finley was by far and away the best player on the pitch.
I stayed after the final whistle to clap them off. We aren’t far off a very good side here, new left back, new goalscorer.
Keep the faith gas, easy to feel downbeat after a loss but this squad are playing for the famous quarters.

Just back from the Derby trading estate to cold Bristol my summary from the game fwiw.
Fans 8/10
Much better atmosphere than at reading well done gasheads. Derby fans made it a decent atmosphere in general in fairness to them.
Our performance was exactly the same as under JB but with slightly less passing. We have no cutting edge at all going forward. Never looked like scoring. Collins was like a lost 17 year old playing his first game. Awful.
Grant cost us the game. I know Wilson missed the header but grants attempt to stop the cross coming in was weak at best. Then the second goal what an absolute calamity what was he doing.
I've been finleys biggest critic this year but he was our mom along with ward. Both played very well.
We are what we are. Were an average league one side. We will finish mid table and we look a mid table team.
P.s. Derby won't go up they are garbage.

Just got back home.
These are sort of results that are clear indication that we are missing that cutting edge, know how or whatever you want to call it.
Derby were pretty poor and fairly unimpressive football side if I'm honest. They certainly don't look a club that has once played in the Premiership. Other than their ground, which is fantastic, they aren't much to write home about.
I thought we moved the ball well, can't really fault the effort of the players. We don't just hoof the ball, don't see any player hiding away.
We play decent football, don't understand the haters that get upset that we pass the ball around, story of the season, once we get in the final third the end product just isn't there.
We are 2 or 3 signings short of being a side that can really push on and challenge in this league.

He scored again which covers up the lack of mobility and limited contribution. Not for me, move him on. Trouble is Marquis has some mobility but is a limited goal threat. We need someone new to move up. I think that’s harsh. Of course he lacks mobility, but he is scoring goals and I don’t even think the goals are his biggest contribution. His intelligence and link up play is on a different level to most that I’ve seen at this level. If he were to have real quality running off him I think he’d contribute more assists than goals this season, he’s on a different wavelength to everyone else on the pitch and that was apparent today when he laid it off to Finley (who was my MOTM by the way) who then skied it in the first half. Agreed , I’ve been really impressed with Martin but he has to have players close to him making runs around him and he’ll find them with flick ons and lay offs. Total waste of time having Collins alongside him currently as he has no movement and appears to have no interest either. Next game I’d go with Martin with Vale and Thomas either side, tell them to get close I mean within 15 yards and make runs as the ball is played to Martin , same with the full backs although obviously they’ll be further back and wider / overlapping . Move the ball quickly , get Evans up behind Martin looking to spread the play and for Martin to lay it off to then Evans can work the through balls . This is how we should be playing , fast direct football using the players we have to the best of their abilities. I was impressed with the work rate today but with the ball we simply are not playing to the strengths of the team. And Collins MUST be dropped for at least one game , it can’t go ion and dropping him for a game or two might be the kick up the arse he needs.

Collins was useless and we’re just too soft at the back . Taylor back with Wilson should (hopefully) help. We need a strong powerful quick centre forward , JCH is not the answer.

Agree with the above posts - Collins needs to be dropped. We had Thomas on the bench today who wants to play and always seems to give 100%

Watched on iFollow in OZ . Absolutely agree. Colin’s was woeful and should have been taken off at half time. Grants giveaway was shocking and overall he had a poor game. Finley was great . Change manager NOW whilst we still have a slim chance of making play offs . JCH can’t even get a start at Peterborough so let’s hope we don’t pursue that anymore. Wonder if Bannister and Warbouys are still around 😳 Old and frustrated Gashead Stoney

Rovers are hardly making any progress with the pretty football and five hundred passes a game. As for Arron Collins, is he now worth a place in the team? The Bookies could well be right with their prediction of a mid - table finish! UTG.

A frustrating day again but we have said that too many times this season and we should have come away from that game with at least a point. Yes Grant messed up for the winner but to lay the blame and call him useless is a bit over the top. The first goal is certainly not his fault look back at it. Collins was weak up top when he should be at least getting a shot away then Wilson inexplicably runs under the ball with noone near him leaving us well out of shape and Grant having to deal with a player who will make alot of league one defenders look silly. Short memories as well as he done superbly earlier in the game stopping a 2 against 1 placing himself in a great position. Again this was down to other players mistakes and he cleaned them up. Yes we lost and yes he made a big mistake but there were players back there that could have helped him out like he had earlier in the game. It seems people want a scapegoat and he is the target. For me Collins is the one who should get more attention his constant falling to the floor and being shoved of the ball stopped alot of our good forward progress and the refs seem well aware of his theatrics. Yesterday he needed taken off so much earlier than he was and that's down to the manager subs were needed before the 70th minute especially with having a strong bench. We are not a million miles away from being a decent side and now is the time for our board to act and get someone in whilst there is still time to make a push up the league.

Listened to the Derby manager post match . Not sure what game he was watching but he reckoned they were far superior and don’t think he mentioned the gas once in 6 minute interview. He’s a bit of a knob for sure . Stoney

It's impressive how they can drop him and still score loads of goals.

Some of the over the top nonsense from some on here re Grant last night was pathetic. He’s a good player that suffers from being our “play him anywhere” guy. Blame the Barton /EJ regime for not recruiting a decent squad of CBs (and left backs)
