Joey lives rent free in the heads of a good chunk of our fanbase. .
He’s gone, forget about him.

Re the first post, I wanted to comment when I first saw the promotion of this vile piece of his latest work but then I smiled because because this cretin is no longer our manager.
I am trying to use words which are not swear words or anything like that about him because I know youngsters read the forum and he still also has a supporters club.
It is time to move on now, he’s done himself no favours again doing this, but the Vauxhall Motors or Fylde owners won’t worry to much when they look to appoint him.
He never thought of Anthony Walker’s family, he never thought of Luke Thomas’s time in therapy for his personal issues, he doesn’t care what others think. Let’s just hope he doesn’t beat up his wife again and the best outcome would be that he turns into some sort of proper Andrew Tait and I get to laugh at him more, prison could be another outcome.

And promoted this while he was our manager, I’m glad I did my but to get him gone, his same supporters would have defended him on here if he was our manager now.

He probably won't get a job in football again. Although Bridgwater United may be a good fit.
As time goes by, he'll be largely forgotten as a player with one cap and no trophies. His best hope to remain rich and famous is through controversy.
We can put this behind us now and unite behind Taylor who will hopefully turn out to be a proper, professional football manager with a setup of football people.

It’s interesting that this was recorded before he was sacked. Are you suggesting he might have been sacked because of it? I think he was sacked for a multitude of reasons but I don't think going on this sort of podcast could have helped in any way.

Very disappointing listen. The bloke lives in an echo chamber. The poor family of the victim.
So many false dawns of turning himself around. Fantastic over Anderton, great promotion season. But the man needs to listen to Thumper- if you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing at all. Totally unneeded narrow review of the past.

I doubt but really hope this was the real reason he was sacked and if so a shame that's not the reason the board gave. Objectively, I liked what Barton did from a purely footballing perspective and the transition to a new manager has been shambolic so it makes much more sense for this to be the cause. I've parked a lot of concern about Barton to support Rovers and if he was still manager today this would be the end of me attending games while he remained - a massive fina straw. Everything has been for the best in this light.

He was sacked because he was doing a sh** job. Not because of the podcast.
But if he was still here this could have been the straw that broke the camels back.

Let’s watch the whole interview before jumping to any conclusions. I’ve watched what he said. That’s more than enough.

It's hard to see how anyone could have predicted this.

This video podcast shows why Barton will never manage at the highest levels where reputation is vital to attract big sponsors.
I'm pleased he's gone in part as I can start going to the Mem again and rejoin this forum. After 60 odd years watching the Gas I called a halt for a few years as I could not stomach someone with his character calling the shots at the Club and calling out everyone but himself.

Weird. The ones who didn't like the bloke spend the most time talking about, watching and listening to his every move. Majority have moved on . Get on and enjoy your lives.its Christmas That's probably because when we aired our views about him we were shouted down by the BBN's (Barton Brown Nosers). We were criticised for publicly saying what a knob he was and that we should just accept it. Well, now we can have our say in a 'told you so' sort of way. Yes we will move on but Barton has damaged us as a club. Even the press when slagging him off for his recent faux pas referred to him as 'Former Bristol Rovers Manager'. It will take many years to lose that heavy anchor. Before he came we were always known as a likeable, family club but Barton destroyed that..not by his management, which was average at best- without his loan players we would have got nowhere...but loan players go back and we are left with a disjointed team, although skillful, who could become good with the right management, but by his reputation as a thug, a narcissist and someone who only opened his mouth to change the position of his feet!! I personally now have got all my Rovers hoodies, shirts, scarves etc back out of the cupboard and will now wear them with pride...not embarrassment at being associated with that vile man.
