Players tend not to care too much about a manager leaving. New manager bounce tends to be due to players trying to create a good first impression so to be selected. At this time of year some players will be looking to avoid injury as it could impact a move during the next transfer window.

Correct!! Of the current squad, I can only pick out Taylor who could possibly be a target, possibly Evans. The rest need to be more concerned about picking up their form to enable a future at this level. It’s now up to MT to work out a system that suits us and to get the players we have to buy into his vision. In my opinion we aren’t suddenly a poor, relegation threatened side. We are just devoid of confidence and missing quality in one or positions (left back, striker) Going to be an interesting January window. Personally I’d send back Woods, Crama, Bogarde and look to invest in players we can develop for long term stability. Too much emphasis on loans over the last 3 years, leaves us continually rebuilding and not having a clear vision. UTG

The problem is the best two players over the last couple of years have been loan players EA and Taylor? Where would we be now without those two?
Connolly returned to the Morecambe starting 11 yesterday v Stockport so I'd recall him for Crama in January.
Another issue is who's going to be in charge of recruitment in January, hopefully not Wael, the VP and TG?

Coughlan but he lost his first league match so a good example of how we need to give this manager more than one league match ( which he drew) before we write him off.

Maybe not a bounce, but MT correctly identified the substitutions needed. He has a right to let all senior professionals to play for their place, and over the coming weeks he'll know by the start of the transfer window what we need, and possibly more importantly, how we should be coached and managed.....that affects potential bouncy bouncy. But remember, every bounce sees an up, and down. Hopefully we're doing the very temporary down, before the longer upppppp.....? That's the hope but after managing just 11 L1 games he might not have a clue what he's doing, yesterday's first half performance does make you wonder. What was his half time talk? "Forget all I told you before the game and just play how you were all playing before I arrived?" In that case we might as well not have changed management staff.

Under Barton we always gave up in the last 20 mins and the only uncertainty to the result was goals from the opposition.

Yes he did, but that doesn't tell all the story. Payne hit the bar in last few mins and we more than matched them on the day. It was an encouraging performance. We definitely deserved the draw. And at times outsung Sunderland. Can't really say that about yesterday.

It’s so early days , there’s no sign of a bounce but it’s been a week and two matches. Any manager needs a transfer window and half a season minimum.

Contrary to MT's comments on Having a Gas Thurs night, where he said there would be no fundamental changes while assessing the squad, yesterday there was a different approach, we were banging it long much more and less playing out from the back.
Still frustrates me that our full backs/wing backs never have a forward pass down the channels, no one is making those runs so we recycle backwards and sideways, sometimes losing possession.
Yesterday we just looked lost and uncoordinated.

How much time has he actually spent on the training pitch?
As mentioned previously, a lot of the new manage bounce relies on existing players wanting to put in the effort to try and impress.
In a very short space of time there has been one day meeting the players and staff, many of whom he never knew before, two games, two days off resting after games, probably an accumulation of a whole day of press stuff, travelling, sorting out accomodation, etc etc
It will probably take 3-4 weeks before he is up to speed.
The rest of this season is sorting out the wheat from the chaff, looking at our players out on loan, the youth team and looking at potential transfer targets.
In short, a lot of work to be done. It's not going to be a 5 min job.

Care to name those players? I'd probably say every player on that pitch yesterday aside from Taylor and Evans would be candidates.!!! I'll give it a go: 33Cox Doesn't care who is manager, just wants game time until the next international break. 42HuntBooked at 45mins I reckon Hunt is one of them. He must be feeling that as an older player moving towards the end of his career, he is in the firing line. 17Taylor I thought he looked out of it first half, seemed to be second to the ball. Looked she'll shocked in 1st half. Maybe in the revolt but for me it's 50:50. 2nd half I thought he played better, though not at his normal high standard. 5Wilson Will put him in the same situation as Hunt. He must be thinking his time is up. I don't think he has been that good this season even under the old manager. 28GibbonsSubstituted forGrantat 45'minutes Both Gibbons and Grant are in the revolt in my eyes. 8Ward I think he wants to play. He needs to have someone with him in midfield that he trusts. 6FinleySubstituted forEvansat 55'minutes Yes, maybe the leader of the revolt. Its a shame really as he before this season he was moving towards getting gas legend status. Won MOM loads last season 11Thomas Confidence player and he has none at the moment. We might need to reasses whether he is good enough for this level. He runs his little heart out but the end product is rarely there. Had a great chance yesterday but his first touch was awful. 20BrownSubstituted forCollinsat 80'minutes Not in the revolut. Just sh*te at the moment. Starting to think this so called £2m player we got on a free can go in Jan, would take £1m on 1st Jan for him. 19Vale Like Cox just wants to get game time and experience. I don't think it's worth his time getting involved in club politics, he'll be going back to Chelsea where the rate him. 18Martin Weird one. He does seem p*ssed off. But the fact that he was arguing with Mangan against Orient suggests that he is not in the Revolt (unless the revolt was to put him in charge). He has done well since arriving, but we should really be looking at Peterborough who had a strategy of having young strikers who can create the press and score goals. One of the things I thought was interesting yesterday was that if you didn't know DC was in charge of them, the crowd wouldn't have given it away. I didn't hear anyone saying "should never have got rid of Clarke".

Don’t think there is a revolt just a load of players who are currently a bit lost after going into the season expecting big things and everything going to sh** around them.
Just need a few new heads and some coordinating.

Just need a few new heads and some coordinating. Exactly as I see it. I wouldn’t say it’s gone completely to s##t, just need our attacking players to hit some form. Collins, Thomas, Brown and Vale are more than capable of hurting any team in this division - challenge now is to get them firing!! UTG
