Why can't we put in place a scouting network to identify them? Give us a little advantage on some of our competitors maybe. Expand our options and increase the pool of players to target rather than fishing in the same limited pond. Money . £7.5k per week for JCH. |

Can you honestly see Rovers signing two decent foreign players when we haven't managed to sign one for years and don't seem to have any kind of scouting network to identify them. Why can't we put in place a scouting network to identify them? Give us a little advantage on some of our competitors maybe. At the moment MT hasn't even got any coaching staff! |

Agreed it might be a little soon for this window, but maybe plan ahead and not spend out an extortionate amount on one player when 2 or 3 player might be out-of-contract in 6 or 7 months time and available for the same combined wage of JCH? We have Chris Martin in the building, maybe his contract could be extended and sign a decent player with a bit of pace on loan to play off him? |

We are in transition , but hopefully will soon get rid of this passing around at the back and out from the back, which invites teams onto us and pushes us back and replace with a more attacking style. JCH is obviously a quality striker who will get goals , but we lack a younger striker with pace that can run at defences through the middle and cause them to panic. So perhaps that should be a priority, when McCormack was with us under Garner he scored goals using his pace to create chances , so he maybe part of the answer.

Personally I’m no longer sure he is the guy for us. He’s not so mobile now - you’ll never see him running from the halfway line like Collins used to do in his pomp. Not sure he would hit the ground running either which we would need as he has been on the sidelines so much at Peterborough.
Was gutted we missed out on him for whatever reason but wouldn’t be too unhappy if we gave him a miss in January

Seen a brilliant young striker from Brazil playing every Xmas.
With a broken arm, he bicycle kicks an equaliser against the Germans.
He seems to do it at least once a season.

I would say in this particular window that time will make the difference. If we plan on waiting until the end of the window to sign him then we would have lost too much ground for it to be worthwhile. That extra month of January I think will be big and signing him near the start could be the difference between finishing 14th and finishing 6th.
I was at fratton park first game of the season and also watched Pompey v Bolton the other night and it has to be said the standard this season when compared to Ipswich at the top last season is telling and with a goal scorer we could easily beat some of these top 6 clubs.
The top of league one this season is far less superior than last season in my oppinion

I would be if i were trying to gauge the interest and value of a player im now desperate to sell. A club that showed interest to "nearly" buy him in the summer would certainly be worth paying close attention too. |
