I thought we also played Newcastle Utd in our centenary at Eastville? McDermott and Keegan just a memory and in awe at these legends gracing the hallowed turf ...? This maybe?
Yes, we won 5-4 in front of 4,107.

First game for me was at Twerton for a 2-2 draw. I remember Paul Miller scoring, and I think it was against Brentford but I can't remember. Apparently we drew 2-2 against Crewe and Stockport at Twerton in the same season, could've been any of those!

Yes, we won 5-4 in front of 4,107. Spurs and a promotion bound Newcastle , laden with stars , not bad .

My dear old Granddad (a Govan man and Glasgow Rangers fan) took me (6 years old) and two cousins to Eastville at Christmas 1970. He`d have been happy with the result in Seville last night.

17th April 1976 at Eastville v Southampton. My Dad got tickets for the North Stand I was aged 10 and took my seat. I remember being mesmerised by the noise from the Tote and became instantly hooked. (Rovers won 2-0 Frankie Prince getting both) Good job I was hooked really because my next game was a 5-1 drubbing by Wolves at Eastville. Which was the last time Rovers had a home attendance for a league match in excess of 20k. I remember that game against Wolves. Christmas week. It was the first time I saw us absolutely torn apart. Lucky it was only 5-1.
