Lots of players not strong or quick enough compared to blackpool, and the players up top cannot be relied on to get goals agree with you mate 👍 Blackpool looked like they had another gear or two in them and we just looked a few yards behind them for most of the game but especially second half. Barton signed some names but most are too injury prone and the ones who stay fit are just to hit and miss between games. Out of the starting 11 today probably only 5 of them has what it takes to take us from a mid table league one side to a top 6 one unfortunately MT won't be able to change much in the January transfer window. But for all the people saying we can do better than JCH or should invest in other areas I say this... we need his goals and we don't have a proper goal scorer in his type at the club and we desperately need him. I hope the reports that we are not interested in him is just poor paper talk from the B post but if not the the owners need to wake up and sign the lad and quickly this time. Where are the owners going to get the money from?

Good game - thought Blackpool had more energy and definitely pushed more of a threat with the excellent Dembele and the constant spectre of Rhodes. We aren’t going up and I think the sooner some on here come to terms with that the better and we can build for next season. Cox / Crama /Woods offer next to nothing and are mediocre at best at L1 level. Would send all three back to their parent clubs. Collins / / Brown are stealing wages each week - I would try to offload Collins to L2 - Wrexham would be perfect for him. Losing today is no disgrace - good side who will push top six potentially and had we had eleven players really busting for the win it may well have been closer. Wonder how many were caught up in the illness bug this week. Why would Wrexham take a Rovers castoff, when this time next season they'll be above us in L1. Just a pity our owners don't have similar ambition to theirs and our own fan base. Just the Hollywood link Topper - Collins would love that.,

Chris Martin to start v Pompey? Why drop 3 in 3 Marquis against his former club? We lost due to defensive mistakes, a dodge offside decision and Collins failing to take a similar chance to LT's not JM. Who is talking of dropping Marquis?

No not Brown … lazy disinterested player. Would need a replacement from outside .. easier said than done I know. Brown's a No 10 anyway, Collins is being used mainly as a winger, Sinclair seems the obvious replacement but he's nowhere to be seen, hopefully he hasn't asked for Christmas off as he's got to look after his 3 kids! It'll be interesting to see how MT is backed in January, as he needs an assistant manager, DoF or HoR and a Chief Scout, plus a goalie, LB & CB plus a possible replacement for Woods and also another striker, all those signings are not going to come cheap. Browns not a number 10, he’s a number 2.

Everyone gave thier all, but Grant totally out classed, out foxed by Beesly and Rhodes. Taylor a good game. Totally outplayed down our left side, over run in the midfield at times. We've got half a really good side, work to be done in the window.

Cox never wins us games, good keepers win you games at times, they are paid to do more than just the basics. This bloke is all the gear no idea, reminds me of Nicholls who is half good now but the issue is we are the Guinea pig all the time.
Crama, car crash defender, proper bang average
And Grant, got a mistake in him every game regardless of playing well.
Add in no strikers of threat, myth squad but best since Holloway 👍

It's obviously not good to loose but I wasn't too disappointed with what I saw today. I thought we played OK. I think we were largely undone by a player that was clearly a class above anyone else on the pitch, Dembele.
Left side of defence still a worry

Calamity cox at it again, too slow off his line for the first goal and cannot kick with his weak foot. Game was there for taking at points because I think they were worse than us at the back. Cox hasn’t won us any games this season. I’ve played in goal all of my life and a good goalkeeper will win you games just as a good striker will. Need to send him back if we can or if we can’t make him number 2 and bring a good league 1 keeper in. Belshaw would have saved two of those today.

It’s hard every week playing with 10 players every week, Collins looks like he would rather be shopping, and having Grant and Cox playing in the same side is a car crash waiting to happen On the brighter side Thomas was excellent

Left side of defence still a worry it was a close game even though half our team didn't show up today. Thomas was just as good as dembele but 2nd half they worked out on how to stop our supply to him. Pity we didn't have a system for their best player

Can change the keeper as many times as you like, pass up as many chances as AC does every week & ya won’t gain another point rest of the season.

We've paid for giving an absolute gift of a goal 40 secs into 2nd half. No idea what Cox was doing trying to play out with his weaker foot from that position. Just clear your lines and reset instead we're under pressure and chasing the game again. Having said that I thought we came back well, I'd like to see a replay of the disallowed goal from a different angle, it looked tight from the replay they showed. Again we've more than matched one of the top sides and on another day Collins scores his one on one and we come away with at least a point. Positives to take forward but also plenty to improve on

Thankfully Grant never started at Bolton but if I’m up and down like a Rollercoaster, your best squad since Holloway comment is like a NASA rocket going up and blowing up pal, the worst over exaggerated comment ever on this forum.

If anyone wanted to know what the spine of a top 6 side looked like then look no further than Pennington, Hamilton, Dembele, Rhodes and Beesley. They were excellent for Blackpool all game. We are defensively light in terms of a dominant centre half (Pennington), have no natural outlet on the left (Hamilton), lack someone to cut through the midfield (Dembele) and don't possess any strikers that can create something out of half chances (Rhodes and Beesley). The keeper isn't decent either. Can't shot stop, poor kicking ability and can't regularly pass to feet when he's in sweeper mode.

Would have him back for boxing day. Last season the defence made him look bad. This yeaR its the keeper who makes the defence look bad

If Blackpool are so great why did they rely on us giving them their first 2 goals and what looked like a dodgy offside decision? If we have everybody fit then we're not a million miles away from being a decent side, losing Wilson to S & D was a big blow, losing him possibly cost us the game.

It's funny because I honestly believe, if we had Rhodes in our team we would be in the top 6 easily, his movement off the ball was next level. I honestly can't remember seeing a striker cause us that many problems for quite a while? A very clever striker, could get near 30 goals this season. Even if the rest of the team aren't really very good, him and Dembele will see them in the play offs.

Quite enjoyed watching 2 teams try to play it around. Dembele ran the show and was the difference. Finley played well again, Thomas too. Defense looked untroubled for most of it. Martins header could have gone in, as could have Collins effort. Another day Thomas wouldn't have been given offside. Evans was quiet which was a shame as he's made things tick recently I don't think we're too far away from a play off push and MT has come in at the right time to make some additions in Jan. Let's hope its the right ones if he's backed
