Looks like the linesman missed the flick before it reached LT, as he's off or close to being off as the ball is played Spot on.

Even before the flick on (at the time) it appeared (from the shadow only) that blackpools no3 may have been playing everyone onside. Though couldnt be sure as was off camera. The lino must have missed that crucial touch on im guessing.

Both the Megson and Holloway promotion sides had great defences. Mike Green and Stuart Taylor were immense. Both sides also had eight players who played over 40 games in their promotion seasons. There is a lot more chopping and changing these days. The game is faster and squads are bigger but perhaps managers at our level try to be too clever and try to make changes rather than keeping it simple. But what do I know? Is this the difference between 'old' and 'new' football? I am happy with the concept that if you don't concede, you only have to score one goal to take the 3 points. Even in the last promotion season we conceded quite a few at the back. Maybe it's time we sorted out the defense for the rest of the season, rather than talk about strikers and the lack of goals...?

Talk always used to be about having a stron spine through the team Megson had Eadie Taylor Green Prince Stanton Warboys Bannister
Trollope had Phillips Elliot Anthony Campbell Disley Lambert Walker
Clarke, would suggest less of a core spine Mildenhall McCrystal Lockyer Mansell Taylor
Others never quite consistent like Harrison, Gaffney, Lines, Clarke
Barton Bellshaw Taylor Connolly Finlay Coutts Collins Anderson
Today we don't seem to know what the key players are to provide that spine, or is it an old fashioned concept with player rotation etc.

The spine is Taylor, Wilson, Finley, Ward, when Finley's in his game you would hope they are all top 6 players?
I doubt we've conceded many with those 4 in the lineup compared to without them, although keeping Wilson and Ward fit seems to be the issue.

Never considered a keeper part of the spine of the team? Clearly Cox is presently our No 1, it'll be interesting to see if he's still that after January.
With Marquis is the team we tend to defend more from the front than with Martin in the side.
