Blackpool fan here in peace. Firstly, Merry Xmas to all you Gas heads. I have a very long-lasting memory of 1990, when you came to Bloomfield Road and won promotion at the end of the season. Pretty sure there were about 4000 Rovers fans in attendance, and Gary Penrice was scoring at will all season. One of the best memories i have of seeing our stadium overrun with away fans. Anyway, i digress. I think Pool were deserved of the win today, but that said, we had to fight massively for it, and credit to Rovers for being a really well-organised opposition. I think you'll be challenging for a top 6 place to be honest, i've seen every team in the league this season and Rovers are among the top of the bunch. Great work rate, some skillful players, and backed on by a faithful support. We (Blackpool), are lucky to have players like Dembele and Rhodes on loan. Dembele is only 20 yrs old, and i feel sure he'll be playing at a massive club once his career starts to flourish. He's just way to good for League 1. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for coming to the seaside and i hope you have a great rest of season. Cheers Really nice comments Seasider merry Christmas to you and yours ! 🎄🍾🥂🎅💙Utg

Cheers We've had more of the games away to Oxford, Pompey, Posh etc this season but not come away with the points because we have a soft underbelly and sadly don't have a match winner in the team. Got to say Dembele and Rhodes look a class above, and if Dembele is only 20! Wow what a fantastic talent. Keep them fit and you've got two true match winners in your side, can't see any reason why you can't get promotion. Best of luck for the rest of the season, apart from when you visit us!

Sounds like a half decent performance but with the season long problems. It explains why we will probably finish twixt 10th and 12th, will give any team a game but not consistent enough to challenge. Some wont be happy but it does represent steady progress , throw in a cup run and the report will be 'satisfactory', IMHO.

On that fantastic day when Rovers were promoted as Champions (Blackpool relegated) with most of the stadium packed with Gasheads I would never have guessed that Ian Holloway would go on to lead Blackpool to the Prem and that Blackpool would be first to a better stadium.
For the younger ones - This is what happened:

A lot of irritation displayed in those two interviews and rightly so. We cannot go on giving away stupid ‘irresponsible’ goals - I believe MT is ruthless enough to deal with these issues and January will be a marker on how he intends to move this team forward - there will be a few casualties in the current squad I’m sure. As I mentioned on the Bolton thread - the priority is a new goalkeeper and also a left back, a centre back alongside CT and a someone to replace Collins - not too much to ask for - really!!

Why does every keeper in this league make saves. Cox has half a dozen errors in him a game and can't stop a shot for toffee. Get rid in January and let some other mugs be his apprenticeship. First signing needs to be a experienced keeper A little harsh bettyblue 💙

Every time I change jobs , I don’t need to bring in a team of my own people. I use the resources available and crack on with it. Anyone can put out a few cones and listen to me moaning about poor decision making.

MT speaking on Radio Bristol Josh Grant has picked up a ankle injury what a surprise Another spell on the sidelines then. Let's hope he doesn't play for us again. I said not long after he joined us that I am amazed that he was ever involved with a Premier League side. I have seen nothing since to make me feel that I was wrong. A complete waste of space. Forgive anyone for giving a flying feck about your analysis of CB’s. Your favourite “Undroppable Tom” went on to do ok. Didn’t he?

There you go Roadman an opposition fan thinks we have a decent squad. Oh brilliant, that makes you right then! Ask him why we are 7, 7, 7 please, ask him why if it’s so good a manager was sacked, ask him why we are bottom half?! Stop posting guys, we have a Blackpool fan who knows it all, I guess he saw the Cheltenham home game as well 😂👍 Just be happy people. We have a team to support. UTG

Finley said the manager doesn’t have his own staff. And that much is obviously true. However that doesn’t necessarily mean the club is unwilling to bring staff in for him, and it’s not what Finley said either. It could just be they’re trying to figure out deals and moving parts particularly if they’re contracted to other clubs. For instance Carlisle only left Rotherham the other day so there may still be contract negotiations going on. You are correct, it is not a case of the club saying 'NO', just that it is taking a while to sort, frustrating for M.T i am sure but not necessarily the fault of the club.

Hey Roady what’s happened to that guy Mark Harris,Oxford fans seem to think he’s not good enough now.A player we should have been after (or his like) according to you. Mixed one up here re Oxford, look at their form, proper nosediving now with Buckingham in charge. Nah, Can't be true, there recruitment process was miles ahead of ours.!

The problem with getting a new goalie is that we've no idea of the terms of Cox's loan agreement, if it was that he plays when he's fit MT could well have no choice but to keep on plating him.

Finlays interview puts paid to any rumours that he may be a pro Barton rebel or sulking.
Sounds like he has really stepped up in helping Taylor get us going.
He has gone up a lot in my estimations for that.

I thought as well Hugo but why are people not picking up on Finley’s proper dig at the board, he publicly said the manager needs his assistants and the board need to sort it out?

The reason I stopped posting for a while was because I was tired where I was fighting battle where everything I said was made up. I said they had no one to train them the other week, I said Whelan walked out on the club, I said the management team were upset that the hotel was cancelled for the Crewe game, I also said the owners son was out of control……….now tonight Finley throws them under the bus properly and I’m glad as well. He said the manager basically isn’t being allowed to bring in his staff, it’s true! It’s a mess behind the scenes. Finley hasn't said that all you have spun to fit your boring agenda. Haven't heard from you since your pathetic Crewe statement and the fact we won 2 games on the trot but bang we lose one and here we go again back on spouting rubbish. Now let's think clearly here usually when a new man comes in they bring there own staff with them but due to the fact Wayne Carlisle was still employed by Rotherham and running the team and even trying to throw his hat into the ring to get the job he didn't come with Taylor. It's unusual that a manager gets sacked and walks into another job straight away so it will take time to recruit a backroom team. For the other coaches to walk out/leave get sacked whatevver happened was quite obvious as soon as Mangan didn't get the job. I don't know what you are trying to achieve by causing unrest in here and why all of a sudden after a loss you pipe back up.

I don't think we were as bad as the comments on here will suggest. 1st half pretty even and a really good watch. Norburn with a worldie and a smart finish from Marquis saw honours even and probably a fair reflection of the first 45. 2nd half Cox made a poor attempt at a really easy chance to clear and we were punished 45 seconds in. We looked really shakey for a spell after that but it wasn't like Blackpool were all over us for long periods of the game. But for a very lucky offside decision, we could have have pulled it back to 2-2. After that it was Blackpool in control and they ran out deserved winners but it wasn't a hammering by any standards. Didn't Collins also miss his 1 on 1 chance before Blackpool scored their third? It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if we had made it 2-2. Wouldn't say it was 1v1, he had a defender on his shoulder and he had to chase the through ball and take it first time. Would have been some finish had he scored it but at least he got it on target and properly tested the keeper.
