Do we really need a new keeper when Belshaw is still under contract until the summer, assuming MT hasn't also fallen out with him then why can't we just play him in goal? Would have him back for boxing day. Last season the defence made him look bad. This yeaR its the keeper who makes the defence look bad I thought that at the beginning of last season Belshaws reactions seemed a bit slow and he was letting in goals that I felt he would normally save but he did seem to settle and still mad plenty of good saves but then Balcombe came in and it all went wrong. I would go with Belshaw for the rest of the season with Ward as Back up and get Hall out on loan so we can see what he can do. It looks like we have another big turnover at the end of the season so I think it would be wise to get a few out in Jan as long as we can get better in but it won't be easy. There will be clubs looking to get players off their books and if they fit the bill we will need to act quick.

MT speaking on Radio Bristol Josh Grant has picked up a ankle injury what a surprise Another spell on the sidelines then. Let's hope he doesn't play for us again. I said not long after he joined us that I am amazed that he was ever involved with a Premier League side. I have seen nothing since to make me feel that I was wrong. A complete waste of space.

People forget Grant was excellent for us before another injury. Think he was playing left back then after moving there from midfield. He's obviously rated by, what, 3 managers we've had? He's considered versatile (CB, midfield, wing/full back) which might not help him out. Not sure his preferred position but remember being gutted when he got injured several seasons ago. Maybe people have forgotten or were staying away at the time.

Spot on. If anyone wanted to know what the spine of a top 6 side looked like then look no further than Pennington, Hamilton, Dembele, Rhodes and Beesley. They were excellent for Blackpool all game. We are defensively light in terms of a dominant centre half (Pennington), have no natural outlet on the left (Hamilton), lack someone to cut through the midfield (Dembele) and don't possess any strikers that can create something out of half chances (Rhodes and Beesley). The keeper isn't decent either. Can't shot stop, poor kicking ability and can't regularly pass to feet when he's in sweeper mode. If Blackpool are so great why did they rely on us giving them their first 2 goals and what looked like a dodgy offside decision? If we have everybody fit then we're not a million miles away from being a decent side, losing Wilson to S & D was a big blow, losing him possibly cost us the game. In the same way we got gifted our equaliser when their keeper parried it on to Marquis toe 2 yards out? They had another gear if they needed it and were never chasing the game and created far more clear cut openings and chances than we did.

agree with you mate 👍 Blackpool looked like they had another gear or two in them and we just looked a few yards behind them for most of the game but especially second half. Barton signed some names but most are too injury prone and the ones who stay fit are just to hit and miss between games. Out of the starting 11 today probably only 5 of them has what it takes to take us from a mid table league one side to a top 6 one unfortunately MT won't be able to change much in the January transfer window. But for all the people saying we can do better than JCH or should invest in other areas I say this... we need his goals and we don't have a proper goal scorer in his type at the club and we desperately need him. I hope the reports that we are not interested in him is just poor paper talk from the B post but if not the the owners need to wake up and sign the lad and quickly this time. Where are the owners going to get the money from? they apparently had the funds up to deadline day didn't they or do you believe that was just a smoke screen 🤔 they bought into our club to invest money and to bridge the gap for us to reach the championship or so we were led to believe.

It's funny because I honestly believe, if we had Rhodes in our team we would be in the top 6 easily, his movement off the ball was next level. I honestly can't remember seeing a striker cause us that many problems for quite a while? A very clever striker, could get near 30 goals this season. Even if the rest of the team aren't really very good, him and Dembele will see them in the play offs. or JCH

You can see the players don't trust Cox now. Get rid, you need to be a footballer in the sticks nowadays….catch & parry ain’t enough.

Maybe people have forgotten or were staying away at the time. Watched him under Garner and thought he was extremely lucky to have a career in the football league. Never rated him better than non league, so if he had a good spell that may have been in L2 where we spent a lot of that season mid table so maybe low end L2 is his level? He's versatile (your words) also means he's not actually good enough to be a starter in any position. Being played by 5 managers just means he's on the books doesn't it? Not a single manager has managed to find his "natural" position.

Never ever a full back, not a central defender either, lost his man numerous times today, let Beesley and Rhodes run off him, let the ball bounce which is basic defending, every header he won he headed straight to thier most dangerous players instead of heading to the wings which is basic defending again. I'm not blaming Grant alone for today, he wasn't the only one not good enough, his ability to fill in at numerous positions might be useful from the subs bench to see out a game, but he's miles off being good enough to start if we want to challenge. New keeper, defender, midfielder, striker needed in the window.

(and Norburn) Didn't get to watch the match, so gonna skim the comments to see how we did even though we lost. Couldn't help the JCH comment though. Marquis is older than JCH but still JCH is too old for us. 😂
