No doubt he's class 8th all time top scorer in the championship.
Moment that made me laugh last night was when one of the Charlton players tried to body him and he bounced off of him and Martin didn't even move.
A great addition to the team.

Made me laugh when he got tackled, went down with a little yelp and began a roll. Then heard the whistle go for a free kick, completed the roll stood up and walked off like nothing happened haha. Horrible when other teams usually do it but nice to have someone able to do it for us too when needed 😂

I love the way he holds the ball up. I reckon 80-90% of the balls played into him he either wins the header or holds the ball up bringing others into play. He reminds me of mark Hughes back in the day. Same size and shape and as strong as an ox. Defenders just can't get around or through him to get the ball.

I'd keep till the end of the season but I'm told he's on close to 5k a week 🫢 Do you believe everything you are told about the club?

Late 80s early 90s Hughes was the best around at sticking his ass out to hold the ball up. Defenders couldn't get around him to pinch the ball. Martin plays in exactly the same way it's great to watch. Which player was it he lifted over shoulder after the winner 🤣

Give him another contract till the end of the season, he's earned it Agreed, if we have no better option extend til seasons end. However we all know he’s not the future for us. 👍🏾

I said last night when both their central defenders were on yellows get him on, as I've noticed Martin enjoys practising a bit of shithousery winding defenders up (no doubt much of it learned in BS3) most notably the incident where he raked the back of a Port Vale defender's calf whilst leaving their box prior to them seeing red. Didn't predict him scoring a brace though ha!
Get the deal signed. UTG

Without doubt the best striker on the 6 yard line in the division at the moment. Also holds the ball up as good as anybody. But..... his mobility & pace is a like an elephant on an ice rink! Useless elsewhere on the pitch. Between Martin & Marquis we have one good killer striker. Half each! Deserves a contract but not too long! 6months, 12months but not longer. Give an option for option based on appearances after that.
We need some pace running at defenders

Trouble is.....he's out of contract mid January. He's now showed EVERYBODY what he can do. His agent is going to be busy me thinks. He can now sit back and listen to all offers, not just ours. At his age if he can secure a good wage and length of contract, he will be off.

More than happy for us to extend. But to end of season only. Don’t want to get done with a longer or really expensive contract. Like him as an option. But he’s not the one I’d start most games.

CM clearly said in his post match interview there had been no talks about extending his contract, MT stumbled over his words when asked if there had been talks!

Like Cureton and Richard Walker, you can’t coach knowing where to be at the right time and Chris Martin can do this all day long. I will be made up if he stays. “What’s your role? Are you a dribbler? A shooter? Do you drop deep and recycle the ball?” “Me stand near goal and kick it in when ball comes” AKA old fashioned goal hanger 🤣

“What’s your role? Are you a dribbler? A shooter? Do you drop deep and recycle the ball?” “Me stand near goal and kick it in when ball comes” AKA old fashioned goal hanger 🤣 It is curious how some players just have this knack. It’s not even strikers, you get random players who know how to finish and others who can’t. I think it might be part psychological. Some players overthink it and others just see a chance and monkey brain does the rest. Walker was a really good example. No pace, he was a decent footballer but he was just always there at the right time. although he had more to his game, Harrison had it a bit. When you needed a goal I always felt you had a chance when he came on. God knows what this skill is, Jedi reflexes. Perhaps it is an art which is coached - movement in the box. Who knows

Never confident when Martin starts a game. However, coming on after 70 minutes of Marquis chasing them down tiring them out is a different story. He still has a good finish on him. Though that compketely depends on getting Vale/Thomas/Collins in good crossing positions
