Sorry, yes he scored again but what else did he do in the game? I also can’t stand his play acting going down and then he gets straight back up, we’re happy to criticise players of other teams for doing this, yet clap it when he does it, all players should be booked for doing this. It's soooooo annoying isn't it - I mean what exactly does he think a strikers meant to do? He needs to get with the programme. All this sticking the ball in the net. It's not how we do things 😡 And all these goals count for absolutely nothing coming from behind. No defending from the front with him in, the defenders aren’t worked as he doesn’t battle them. When defending corners they come straight back at us as we are all in the box and he’s the striker. Bring him off the bench yes but get a striker in that does stuff for the team and scores. We must have the slowest team in the league.

Maybe we should try defending at the back?

Maybe we should try defending at the back? Yes I agree, but there’s no outlet for them with him upfront alone.

Somersetgas, it doesnt matter who you have up front if nobody else is playing the pressure game. MT obviously wants to play the game with no pressure on the opponents back four but stopping the opposition going too far. It obviously isnt working and its the same lack of organisation when we have corners. I would say the opposition score more goals following our corners than we score from them!

Stick him on for the last 20 where he not only helps himself but us as well.

Losing Finley, Ward, Bogarde and Wood, can hardly be helping matters, and Brown simply seems a passenger whenever he plays and Rossiter never even plays.

What a stupid post this is-unbelievable that any supporter would want to take out the one bloke who actually knows where the net is. The secret is not to take him out but to ensure he gets more chances!! To say you dont want him defending corners- i lay odds he too would prefer NOT to defend corners but to stay up front and in the same way he would prefer to push the last man and pressurise him but on your own you cant do that-you need your other forward players to cut off the out lets. This is not Chris Martins fault- this is how the Manager asks him and the team to play. For some reason -which i fail to understand both JB and MT want everybody back for corners and free kicks and neither manager seem to want to play two up front together.Somebody tell me why you need Aaron Collins defending a corner when he cant really head a ball? Personally I would play Martin and Collins together and press the defenders.

Slightly off topic, AC isn't there to head per se, the idea with bringing everyone back is to pack the box, prevent runs, mark players and stop the 2nd or 3rd wave attacks.... Norwich done it against us, many clubs play this way.
I don't understand why we don't play one up front, the paciest at set pieces, but I'm old fashioned.
Football is organic and changes, so the nuance of CM contract has now made him more desirable, and he has worked hard to hold more cards in negotiation. Fair play to him. I see it as a priority to sign him 18months asap.
But you know our luck... He'll sign for 18 months, and go injured next month.
