MT on Radio Bristol suggesting they’ve been talking about a contract extension. But coy other than that. Sounds as if he’ll be sticking around which will be a welcome signing if he keeps putting them away like tonight.

Hes never been quick but his positioning is superb and definitely deserves a contract even if we sign another striker.JCH would be a completely different player and all top teams have three options. Martin has class written all over him and because he has never been quick he could easily last two more seasons. Give him an 18 month contract so nobody can take him off us.

Like Cureton and Richard Walker, you can’t coach knowing where to be at the right time and Chris Martin can do this all day long.
I will be made up if he stays.

Very useful to have in and around the squad and he is such a good finisher.
When he came onto the pitch tonight the Charlton lump number 2 gave him a shove, Martin barely moved. Martin shoved their number 2 back and he flew about 5 yards, really made me laugh.

I'd keep till the end of the season but I'm told he's on close to 5k a week 🫢 Would be worth keeping him until the end of the season on 5 K a week. How many goals has he got now ? He must be averaging around a goal every 90 minutes , feels like it anyway. Edit : just looked a goal every 148 minutes. That’s very decent and probably better than anyone else in our squad. |

No brainer isn't. Extend until the end of season immediately.
The guy is class, puts himself about, defenders must hate him, intelligent positioning and knows where the goal is.

What a great signing that we didn't know at the time. You have to give credit to previous bods for that.
Well done to CM himself for working hard to get himself into a position to compete fitness-wise.
He's scored so many important goals, my fav so far lobbing the keeper (after an offside hand ball by super Johnny Marquis) to rescue a point v Stevenage!
How nice would it be for a new contract offer to coincide FA cup, v Norwich City?
A club where he made his name.
What could possibly happen as we've seen a fairy tale or two recently?

I think he wants to stay longer than the end of the season as he wants the opertunity to do a preseason. He has never had any pace to lose but has been considently good at a higher level for a long time as he reads the game very well and knows the dark arts of unsettling the opposition. He is good at communicating and has the nous so I would look to keep him at the club and involved in coaching.

Has to stay on and as said above would love him to become part of the coaching team.
Who better as a role model for current and future strikers?

Extend Chris Martin’s contract & save the cash we were going to splash out on JCH to strengthen other positions. IMHO Chris gives us what we would be getting with JCH , not the most mobile of players but a natural goal scorer & he admits himself he’s nowhere near his best.
