Do you seriously think Connolly will be an improvement on today's back 3? We need an experienced CB to replace Wilson, as I doubt he'll play many more games this season, although getting one this month who's not also injury prone will be a big challenge for MT. Yes, he’s way better than Grant. But at this moment in time I’d play Hoole ahead of them both. Is he? I think No Beef is on par or worse than Grant, at least Josh can play left back, No Beef was exposed last season and the manager who spent 6 figures knew it as well, he bombed him.

Said manager played him up then played him down, he was quality alongside Taylor. Still would pick Hoole above Grant, the guy was so in form at the end of last season. Grant….. what’s he ever done? Reminds me of Justin Channing, for the older people amongst us.

Think we would have been better switching to a back four today .... Hoole could have dropped in at RB comfortably.... 4-1-3-2 would still have made us competitive today. I am worried that MT will not be backed in January as the owners son will clearly see we are not going up this season and will decline funds whilst potentially getting the squad trimmed. It was allegedly the owner’s son who pulled the plug on the JCH deal, so perhaps he needs to stop playing FIFA with our club . . . Has that ever been confirmed or just made up on here? (and now Gaschat fact!!!)

It was 1-0 when Grant was subbed off with Rovers well on top against 10 men and only one team looking like scoring, later it was 3-0 against 10 men with Hoole getting the last touch on the third goal.

We are what we are , A bang average league 1 team and for the moment I’ll take that, Absolutely nowhere near a playoff team at the moment. Consistently inconsistent. At last some common sense. Disappointing today and a few players had a nightmare, I’m sure Taylor will not play as badly again this season. But he’s been excellent so far so I’ll give him some slack for today. Overall we looked a bit tired after several games recently. I know Wycombe have had the same but looking at their results I bet after who we played and how we had to battle it took more out of us than Wycombe have expended recently. I’ll put today down as a bad day at the office. Cox played very well but he was caught out on the first goal being wrong footed. Had he dived Im sure he’d have turned it over the bar. But a good day for him. Another two goals for Chris M but we do have to play a certain way for that to happen and we didn’t do that enough early on today. We have fought ourselves into a decent position on the edge of the playoff challengers but we are as you say okebourne, a bog standard mid table League 1 team. With anspirations to be better!! And of course we can still challenge if we can repeat the wins we had before today. Tbf I thought Wycombe played well today after a bad run and produced the kind of effort we all want our sides to give. Their keeper played well but I thought he was booked earlier and then when he was booked after trying to hold the ball after our first goal I was expecting a red to be shown. Presumably it was someone else. The ref did ok although Vokes was lucky to be still on the pitch after avoiding the second yellow. I would imagine the Wycombe player sent off will be in even deeper trouble after refusing to leave the field and he’ll miss an extra game for that. But the team came back well and had Jevani B not shot just wide with the last touch we’d have completed the best comeback of the season. So we need to take that into the next match. Instead of inter passing on the edge of our own penalty area this time I thought we overdid the passing around on the edge of their box. We saw at the end what happened when we crossed and got the ball into their box. Had we done that more often earlier on we saw that they struggled with Chris M and John M in the box. Sure that Matt T would have learnt something today, more bad than good but we’ve got a bit of a league gap now so time to have time coaching them into his ways. UTG!

No idea how people don’t see the poor decision making of Cox. He’s made several really good stops, but equally he’s been rooted to his line for every cross and is simply not anywhere near good enough at this level. No upgrade on Belly whatsoever. Why oh why didn’t we go all out to get Ripley or someone in the Summer. Awful recruitment

Matt Taylor’s summing up today, can’t argue with anything he say’s. Lovely drop of the f bomb by Taylor there at 1.46. Fully deserved. Should have used it more.

Matt Taylor’s summing up today, can’t argue with anything he say’s. Agreed, good value from that interview. Focused on what we did / didn’t do. No need for any other excuses…….Refs, Lino’s, weather, length of the grass etc. Nicely done Matt. We’ve shown we can play and win when everyone is on point. Next game is a big test , but I’m backing our boys to step up and have a right good go at it.

What a stupid statement to make. If it was'nt for him it could have been 5or 6. That’ll be the “several really good stops” I clearly mentioned in my stupid statement. Fact is, the poor basics are a mile off. You clearly have never played in goal or had much to do with the role if you think his basic positional play is good overall, today included. The reaction saves were very good as I said, but reflex saves alone don’t change a lack of dominance in your box or clear decision making unfortunately well at least you have admitted in your reply that your statement was stupid. I have played in goal and probably much more than you but that is irrelevent. Coxs positioning is his main strength as he leaves his line and takes up good positions which stop attacks before they have happened as he did on a few occasions today. Again he was let down by poor defending which in fact got worse when Hoole came on. I today thought that Brown and Ward were both improvements. We seem to be very susceptible to teams who play little football but have physical strength and play to that strength. I always fear when we play teams we should beat as it seems to have the opposite effect. I will also repeat what i have said previously that JCH is the type of player we should be looking to sign now as well as a strong centre half and a midfielder who can make strong challenges. Cox is the least of our worries!!

Re Connolly, he was good in a good Div2 next to Taylor with an incredible offensive unit that took the pressure off our defence. He was found out in Div1, an aging Vokes today battered Taylor, Crama and Grant at times and Vale for the first goal, Connolly would have done worse against him. Morecombe have let in 19 in the last 7 games, Connolly has played in a lot of these, we are not calling him back from a top 7 side.

Fair comment, I just think he needs another chance, can’t be worse than Grant, we need a replacement for Wilson as he’s a sicknote, look at his career history.

IMO Hoole is not up to League 1 standard at either RB or CB and gets caught out of position far too often. We always seem to concede when he comes on as substitute. We desperately need to sign two strong CBs in January and i would love JCH to sign and another winger if Sinclair is not going to be considered.

Like Friend, and so many more, we were easy picking for agents in the last 3 years We've been easy pickings for a lot longer than just the last 3 years, DC signed some duff players and BG a whole squad of them, we've probably been mugged for as long as agents have existed.

I get called a hater but you look at Pitman, Leon Clarke, Trev Clarke, Mark Hughes, Harry Anderson and Loft couldn’t stay fit, Rossiter, Gibbons, Hunt now, Friend now, Wilson now. This isn’t coincidence stuff, I think the owner has to protect his investment and the club. The fitness tests and background research couldn’t have been good enough, Friend is 36 and played 46 games in 3 years at Birmingham, it’s as if it was fraud and were doing agents favours or just know idea of who to sign. I was told the owners son pulled the plug on the JCH deal, I am starting to wonder if he was right as well. £800k for a 29 year old with no resale value. Overweight as well, likely injuries now getting older, I think we did right pulling out, I also think we did right sacking Jennings straight away.

Fair comments by MT. I like how he says it how it is rather than BS.
