YouGov say that the voters' priorities are: Economy Housing Immigration Health In that order. Thinks like mortgage rates, does that come under economy or housing? It's all interlinked. The 'perception/established narrative' is that immigration causes issues with housing and health (plus education amongst others) but is a boost to the economy. Can we really have one without the other? 👀

I don't think there's any perceived connection or interlinked downsides and benefits for most who think immigration is a priority. There's no analysis at all.
It's really quite straightforward. They don't like foreigners coming here, especially non white ones.
That's how it is. Not just in this country and not everyone is like it.
But a lot are, and there's no reasoning with them.
If forced to justify their stance they will trot out stuff like 'taking our jobs, houses and hospital beds'. But they don't really care about all that. They just don't want foreigners here. Impossible to beat them or reason with them.

Finally some honesty in politics and it’s from a Tory….
Tories are a ‘shower of sh**’, says Conservative candidate James Cracknell

" "I have actually met Putin and had a 10-minute chat with him and he seemed very good. He is not the Austrian gentleman with a moustache come alive again." Boos and looks of disgust were directed towards Mr Malins, who does not live in Salisbury, after he made this statement." www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/news/24407670.reform-uk-salisbury-candidate-says-putin-seemed-good/Had to smile at this from the comments section: "Reform are just a bunch of ill informed , big mouthed pub bore bigots with no idea on most things . The sort of idiots sensible people stay clear of at the bar !"

Im ashamed to admit that I bet £6.50 on myself being voted most insightful poster of the year and another £1.49 betting on stuart1974 coming out as a reform voter .

TBF Hope Not Hate have been spending a lot of money lately and not necessarily within the rules. Apparently they paid for an MRP poll in Rochdale to make sure Labour and not Galloway wins that seat. Average cost of an MRP poll getting accurate data is £20k (0.1% of that was mine...) and the spending limit for a non-party campaigner in a single constituency is £700. Hope they got a big discount....

Conservatives upsetting Martin Lewis. "But the Conservatives wrote in their tweet it shows Labour will put up taxes, writing: "Labour have said they wouldn't put up your taxes. But it's now becoming clear that they have every intention to put them up." Hitting back at the Tory party, Mr Lewis wrote: "NOWHERE in this comment do I talk about taxes. "And the policy that I discussed (I will keep private as it was private) was NOT about taxes, or tax rises, it was about something that would be a positive change." The Conservative Party has been contacted for comment." news.sky.com/story/election-2024-sunak-starmer-conservatives-labour-reform-lib-dem-12593360?postid=7875044#liveblog-body

Looks like polling is suggesting Corbyn will lose.
We can but hope.

So the dodgy dude who was sending flirty texts to multiple MPs etc was a member of the Labour Party . Immediately suspended, but not a good look.
