and there is the 1st Barton post of the day If you're thinking this is a pro Barton post , you're wrong.
In reply to having the same points as JB , I'm indicating there has been no MT signings with this squad , so its no surprise were getting the same results.
Need new players in , behind MT , def not a JB fan UTG
Totally my point too. No manager is bigger than this club. Since the J.C.H saga we have released Loft Belshaw Clarke Bogarde Woods. We are down to the bare minimum with a list of injuries. We have had a crisis in defence for weeks were players are being played out of position. Our strike force needs strengthing. What is the use bringing MT in if no funds available?.

I might be in the minority here but I thought we were the better team today, the problem (as it has been all season) is taking our chances. We were the better team but our inability to score our chances and stop their shots cost us. Again.

Every player has detailed statistics collated in every game these days.
Impressions and opinions gained from watching games may not result in a totally valid picture.
One example that comes to mind is:
NUMBER OF SHOTS ON TARGET AGAINST A PARTICULAR GOALKEEPER
In League One to date:
Matthew Cox has faced 116 Shots On Target.
Only Jay Lynch at Fleetwood Town has faced more. 121.
Meanwhile.
Nicolas Bilokapic, at Peterborough United has faced just 72 SOT in the same number of games.
At Derby County, Joe Wildsmith has only faced 67 Shots On Target.
Other stats show he is not the outstanding keeper in League One.
Overall Goalkeeping stats suggest he is, like the team, just above mid-table in the keeper rankings.
His kicking and foot control lets him down at least once every match.
He may have been fortunate but he has not cost us a hatful of goals.
It could be argued that he could command his box a little more from corners.
However, he is far too often not protected from enforcers with a suitable blocker.
This was especially noticeable under JB. Initially became better under Mangs.
Scapegoating the goalkeeper when the team loses is a little too convenient.

I personally don't see the.point in signing anyone in this transfer window now I mean we can barely put a fit midfield three out. So definitely need some cover in there at the very least. We don’t need to go pushing the boat out on transfer fees and wages though. May as well save most back for the summer.

Completely understand where people are coming from re Cox but I don't see he cost us anything today. I'll admit after 5 mins I was worried but apart from one header from a corner he hasn't made a save. Having said that we concede far too easily, Barnsley barely had a shot and still scored twice Martin is banging in goals for fun & will be getting offers from elsewhere. Probably his last contract, he'd be daft to simply accept Rovers' first offer 2 weeks before his contract is up. If another club comes in with an 18 month deal & upped his wages, what do you reckon he & or his agent would do? Same as you or I in that position! Don't blame him, it's a short career & if he'd been injured or kept out of the team by a fully functioning Azza/Marquis/Brown, we'd have cheerfully waved him off at the end of the month, calling him a clapped out Ted reject. He doesn't owe BRFC anything and vice versa!

Lost count of the times an opposition long ball has been hit towards our box and he is stuck to his 6 yard box forcing defenders to give the ball away or concede corners/free kicks

To be fair to Rovers, as others have said, we were bare bones today. A lot of injuries to key players. Other than Martin, it’s like all our other attacking players have caught some kind of flu and none can find any goalscoring form.
We need some strikers, cover in midfield and a centre back. And a goalkeeper. I think we can do better than cox. He’s often good but has clanger moments.
Extremely frustrating how close we came on so many occasions. It wasn’t our day.
Away at Barnsley was never a game any of us thought we would get points.

And if he is far better than them, then we need more than 1 new keeper.

Perhaps going into his local pub and getting a hero's welcome means more to him than money ever could.

I personally don't see the.point in signing anyone in this transfer window now I do, we have to finish as high as possible and from what Ive seen of the teams near the top it wont take much for a few of them to drop. You cant sack a manager for league position and not back your new manager in the next window, they are even stuttering over offering Martin a new dealI agree about the teams at the top looking similar with no stand outs but think we’re probably going to be top half team, nothing more atm. I hope we get better but a decent performance today with very obvious short comings. As to Chris M I’m not sure. I think they may have already offered him a deal similar to what he’s got now but having seen the reports about the **** and QPR being interested I wonder if him and his agent are holding out for more money or perhaps an 18months contract or something. I don’t know but it would seem that offering him an extension is a no-brainer and that we’ve already done it but he’s just holding out. I guess time will tell when he signs at the last moment. UTG!

I think youvare struggling to keep up. Maybe back to school for some Maths lessons. Oldmarket65 made comment number one about JB. gingerandwhitegas responded with comment number two. If you are going to point out that someone has started making noises about JB at least do your research and follow the thread properly. 🙄

When Chris Martin arrived, he hadn't done pre season and he hadn't played for anyone. Now he has played for us and has scored goals (his goals per minute must be out of this world). He is looking around to see what he can get and tbh I can't blame him. The next contract may well be his last. He knows where the back of the net is and his attitude about this is spot on. If he keeps playing and scoring goals, he will get other offers. He is not sulking like some players might, we have him until next week?

We lost to a better side on their own patch. We had enough chances to win but we were very poor in possession of the football, which can be attributed to Barnsley. They are above us in the league with +19 GD to our 0. Player for player they were better. More composed, more time, stronger, faster, smarter. We were plucky but it was a fair result imo. We've got too many weak links atm, so they will each need to find an extra couple of % for us to be consistent genuine contenders.
We've a new manager who is applying his style to a squad that isn't his. He's been here a few months. He hardly inherited a table topping group anyway so the dissatisfaction with not challenging 'top 6' is odd.

Surely the disaffection is down to the owners suggesting MT as a top budget and KB only saying yesterday he hoped we could challenge for a top 6 place?
Perhaps the club just needs to accept anything better than a top 10 finish this season will be a good outcome, rather than talk nonsense about a higher finish?

Best chance in living memory to get a promotion to the second tier and we go and make a right pigs ear of it. Not making the League One playoffs even once in 25 years is shameful.

And his positioning today for the second goal was laughable. Well it would be funny if he wasn’t our keeper. He should have been a step over to his right the Barnsley forward could have driven a bus through the gap he left.

Lol, I don't think so. Did you see our odds at the start of the season? 99/00 season was the biggest mess in 25 years, no doubt about it.
