Cox plays and we probably lose that 1-2 or 1-3. That's the difference. I was worried about Jeds height, but as he and many other keepers have proven over the years, that doesnt matter. That’s pretty much how I see it. |

However fell over 2x taking clearances and a few iffy balls upfront to nobody.
Things to work on but overall excellent so far.

A match winning goalkeeper.
All good sides have them.
Belshaw in league 2 promotion was outstanding.
Philips before him
Parkin before him
Everytime we’ve won promotion we’ve had a quality keeper.
It’s very unlikely any team will be successful if they don’t have a match winner between the sticks.

Great performance by the young man. Still improvement to be had on crosses but his shot stopping and positioning is excellent.

Not really certain Cox was an improvement on Belshaw, when the latter was playing his normal game, Mangan made the right call when he tried to recall him, although why he also overlooked Ward is a mystery. |

His job is so stop the ball going into the goal and barring a fluke deflection last Saturday, he’d be at 180 minutes without conceding and two clean sheets to accompany the many brilliant saves. I like us playing with a purpose and building from the back but not the be all end all and Jed will improve his kicking with time. |

No harm in saying that, the two points aren’t mutually exclusive. |

In my opinion, we need to secure Jed very long term as he is not the finished article yet. BUT has a great future in the game.
It’s not beyond fantasy, that there will be clubs looking at him at a higher level if he keeps performing like this.

You were once again great today! UTG Ward has been on the radar of the England setup himself and was included in an England U19 training camp back in 2021 alongside Cox. His two league performances for us will have obviously caught the eye of national team scouts, as will his displays at Wealdstone in the National League. What an excellent start to his Rovers career. 👏   |

Been very impressed with Jed, definitely superior to Cox and you can tell Ward cares whereas Cox always appeared apathetic when conceding. UTG

Gas Legend in the making so pleased for him G'wan Jed lad So pleased for him, should have been in earlier in the season as well but he couldn’t because of the deals Jennings was signing us up to which has surprised Taylor and won’t be happening anymore. Brentford at times have picked our match day squad for us, Balcombe split the camp at one point being picked over Belshaw but contractually we had to play him. |

Love the Forest supporter on the Brandon thread who watched our game today saying Jed was better than what they have in goal and Forest should have done a loan swop deal.
