Well done young man, what an excellent performance and thoroughly deserved POTM. I'm just disappointed a fluky deflection cost him a warranted clean sheet.
He was commanding, composed and alert. Some outstanding saves, including a very keen one to his bottom right at the end that prevented an injury-time Oxford onslaught at what would've been 3-2.
Clearly the Wealdstone loan has done wonders for his confidence and development and after witnessing his performance today, it is unequivocally clear in my mind now that Jed deserves to and should be our keeper for the rest of the season.

A massive thumbs up to him today! OK he wasn't overly worked or had to make 10/12 saves today but what he did do was command his area take catches from incoming crosses and kicked very well and for the first time all season I wasn't worried about our keeper and that's massive relief for me. I've never felt safe with Cox in goal and apparently under JB he was brought in for his quick kicking skills but I've never really seen him pick a pass out??? So it's very refreshing to see us pick another young keeper today but one that is actually ours!

Absolutely made up for Jed. A brilliantly commanding performance and that save off Rodrigues in the second half down low to this right was unbelievable.
Needs to keep the gloves till the end of the season now, for me.

Needs to keep the gloves till the end of the season now, for me. Unbelievable is exactly right. Rodrigues and another Oxford player went over to him and said good save! Ward today did all the basics I haven’t seen from Cox. Clear talking, commanding his box, positional awareness, anticipating the shots, and good distribution. All points I made after Wycombe and that have only got worse since. I hope Jed gets a chance and continues as he did today as it was a strong display. |
