Roady, I get fed up with hes looking at this or looking at that after what has been a totally disappointing window. If he plays the way we are playing at the moment with just one isolated up front and no front pressing we will be looking at a new squad in League Two next season. If that happens then for starters if the three players you mention are any good they will not sign for League Two. To me there are no signs at all that he is a better Manager than JB in either his team selection and substitutions or tactics. Christ he brings on defenders when we are two down and signed three light weights. Does he even look at videos of games under Barton. If so he would know that to play Gordon , Houle or Grant in defence is a recipe to disaster. Evans whilst playing well wastes 90 per cent of the free kicks and corners and most of the time Marquis is a headless chicken. If the club had not messed up the JCH deal IMO we would never have been in the mess we are in and also would not have lost AC. Three good players were needed in the transfer window. However to conclude it is no good looking back and we cannot afford to write the current players off completely or they will down tools (and may already have done so) and relegation will become reality. The Manager must change his thinking and change to an attacking ,pressing game of football and not let mediocre teams like Fleetwood and Burton play unopposed from the back. JB is gone and whilst I believe it was a bad decision, poorly timed and with no real knowledge of a replacement it is a decision that has been made and we as supporters must accept that and hope that Taylor can prove to be a good Manager which now the window is Past means getting the players he has playing to their peak.

They are looking at proper players, north of the border as well. One player is Championship level and already agreed to sign and he’s under 30 years of age. Averaging 30 plus games a season. Get off his back and give him a chance, I know some miss the last bloke but we need to let this man have his own summer transfer window. The problem he's got is its a long way to the summer. By saying the ' previous regime' is to blame will buy you some time maybe three months . You must know deep down this could go either way and I understand your support of Taylor just to get us over the line . However : results is key . If we only get 1 point at Stevenage & Northampton . He must win the Carlisle game to suppress the challengers . In a way I want him to get over the line but he can't simply rely on other things. Assuming Taylor & Finley don't return this week then getting 1 point at Stevenage &/or Northampton will be a good return? Carlisle are in dire states, being on a long losing streak, if we fail to beat them then we'll be in serious trouble. We've simply got to pick up at least 3 pts in those 3 games.

So here's the problem: Barton massively overspent on crap and we have an inflated squad because we have had to sign players to cover off the broken bits of crap that keep getting injured. Players turned us down also simply because even by Jan we were miles off the play offs. Also we need wholesale change, but you can't do that in January unless you can move out even more players, but if we're paying good money, and we are, you're going to struggle to get clubs to take over their contracts. Let's be fair to MT, half of the squad is broken the other half are simply trying to stay injury free and fit so it's a fine balance and we simply don't have the personnel to play wrestling matches with teams like Burton atm. Where I will lay criticism at his door is the subs today. Conteh was having a great game in the middle. I would have yanked Gordon and Marquis off too. Bit weird that. Also I thought Hoole looked ok when he came on and gave Thomas a link to play with and get forward more.

It didn’t work but I’ll give him a little credit for trying. Gorden is a waste of a shirt and it amazes me some fans think he’s decent.

How else could have played at LWB/LB yesterday once Friend seemed to just give up, Grant who's just as bad? Until Hoole came on Thomas was just as poor on the right.
Playing with wing backs didn't work in either home this week.

Toppergas, I agree with you so IMO if you havent got a LWB you dont play with one and you play the extra player up front and pressurise the opponents defence. We allowed both Burton and Fleetwood to build from the back and in fact in both games we were the ones being pressurised. I have to say that since MT came in the football has deteriorated each game. His window was a waste of time- we are worse because he has signed light weights. Even the centre half at 6ft 5 is just not a bruiser and to be honest not a very good footballer- in fact just like Burtons 6ft 9 player doesnt look as if he can play football in a million years. Until we ATTACK teams at home we will not pick up any points and our away games coming up dont feel me with confidence with a Manager who looks and sounds out of his depth and I dont care who Roady says he will sign in the summer-the important time is now. Who knows who he will be able to sign in the summer when they dont even know what division we are going to be in? Roady chats rubbish, In Barton we were in most games we played, dominated possession and created chances and missed sitters. Some games were lost when we were reduced to 10 players, some were just downright poor refereeing. The last two games we cant blame the referees or missed chances because MTs tactics dont result in many chances created. In fact both Fleetwood and Burtons keepers could have stayed home. DIRE FOOTBALL.

If you sack a manager and employ a manager who has a completely different idea of how the game should be played, then you must be prepared to spend a serious amount of money completely changing the squad. Either that or the owner should of employed a manager that was willing to carry on in Bartons style with a few tweeks to improve us. Taylor will need some serious backing in the summer for sure. Which makes the decision not to give Mangan the job all the more bizarre.

Through arbitration surely appointing Mangan was the right thing to do, at least until the end of the season. Unfortunately, the inner sanctum of 2/3 people who own the club and do not have a clue about what being a Gashead, is really about, decided to rip up the play book and bring in a manager who immediately decided to re introduce 1990s long boot football from the back to the front, miss out playing any football from the back and through midfield quickly, and just hope the likes of Marquis, who is shocking in the air, et al will win the second ball, which as we all know this squad was not set up to do.

The highlights show Burton came closest to scoring at 2-1, you really couldn't make it up. No doubt the usual gang will be on here later telling us what a great manager MT is and it's all JB's fault we're now potentially facing a relegation battle.

I'm definitely not a morally superior person, but I was very glad we got rid, but given how well AM did it should have been a no brainer to have stuck with him if the plan was to have a cheap January. AM represented a chance to make the change without the need to completely rebuild the philosophy. As SteveK said, if you bring in a totally different manager, you have to back him. Our owners have done neither. It really makes you wonder what goes on at the top. It's not rocket science is it.

Yet another summer of rebuilding with so little progress is demoralising and the ambition of Championship football likely to remain a pipe dream. Season upon season with no manager able to take us to division above for over thirty years! What is it with this club?

No stability at all Exactly this At some point we need to realise our strategy is not working I like the noises coming from MT He’s stated some uncomfortable truths but truths they are We need to implement a decent scouting network and plan for the future with signing our own players to develop. Playing with 5 loans for the end of the season is madness I’d much rather have seen Greenslade and Jones given a go, we need to start putting together a team that grows over 2-3 years rather than chopping every summer Hopefully the owners sit down with MT and put together a long term vision to stop this continual spiral! I really need to KNOW who these players are, by the time the early bird ST offer ends. I kind of accept the season is over and grinding out 12 more points is what's required. The board have thought it pointless spending too much now, best wait till the summer, but that means they have to show intent for next season ASAP or I will have to make the choice of ST or casual attendee. Also, if the manager has already indicated who he wants out, they aren't exactly going to bust their balls for the cause. Leading to more frustration and disenchantment. They are looking at proper players, north of the border as well. One player is Championship level and already agreed to sign and he’s under 30 years of age. Averaging 30 plus games a season. Get off his back and give him a chance, I know some miss the last bloke but we need to let this man have his own summer transfer window. That's encouraging and I hope its all done & dusted early in the summer, however that's a long way off. I'm certainly in the give MT time camp but we desperately need a couple of results to give everyone a lift. 3 at the back hasn't really worked the last couple of games & again yesterday we looked better with a 4. I'd go 4231 and get our creative players higher to support Martin, we very rarely keep clean sheets anyway so let's try something different

So Roady why did you return? Could have done us all a favour. Just got home from the game and seen this. I returned because I was told the board were reading the forum and I wanted to do my bit and get Barton gone, he went and I was and am made up. Today was another example of a terrible squad Barton left behind with a top 8 budget. It’s been weak all season, pension pots like Wilson, doesn’t want to be here and past it. Gordon, he resigned Grant, Brown is a disgrace and terrible player, another who doesn’t want to be here. We’ve got Jed in goal now because he treated Belshaw disgracefully, Cox not up to it. Crama bang average, so many, you hero left us in a mess but I still go most weeks, like the time I met you at Burton Steve. We used to be in total agreement in the past, I remember me defending you on your opinion of Tony Craig, imagine him playing or a player like that now, Wilson has 10% of his passion. You came for me on this thread Steve and still are tonight, I hope you are well mate, we are all Gas and Barton wasn’t us.
