Having sacked one of those it's hard too believe the owners have managed to employ somebody worse, how he now seems to have lost the whole changing room, or at least yesterday's changing room, beggars belief. If we can't move on Wilson etc then surely the board will have to move on MT, or things will be just as bad next season. if monotone Matt hadn't lost the changing room before the match, he certainly will have after his diabolical post match rant; when he first appeared he thought the squad was really good, now he constantly blames Joey and the players, its down to him why the football is cr*p and Rovers are currently losing too matches. If he had a pair he would have stood up and brought in a replacement for Azza and a bit of experience across the park during the window.

I'd certainly agree that to repeatedly call the players he has to rely on 'weak' is hardly likely to encourage them.

So to recap ( genuine question) . They sacked Barton because he had a top 6-8 budget . However : they are now making cut backs and trimming things from top to bottom ?. They sacked Barton because he's a horrid Special lady garden. They couldn't come out and say that though could they? So they had to give some excuse and that was what they felt would fly. I really wouldn't read in to those comments The bile of a hater knows no bounds, your facts are unfounded and doubt you would make such a claim to Joeys face, thought not; if you were at the match yesterday, you would have noticed all three of their goals came from defensive mistakes, something Taylor should have worked on during the weeks pre match preparation.

And Taylor was a CB. As was JM. And KB.

Chiming in on the above...
100% Matt Taylor deserves a proper chance to recruit his own players. Tbh- I'd likely be saying this whoever the manager was. All managers need 3-4 permanents before conclusions can be made.
The issue is that fans bought into the dream this August. We really thought- this might be our year... when Barton was sacked- it wasn't a unaminous feeling from the supporters. There were views both sides. It might have been the first sacking (in my lifetime- 35 years) that came about without really feeling the sniff of relegation. It felt different.
Personally- I wasn't sure whether it was the right call but was also reasonably happy to lose the association. I was further convinced when Al Saeed spoke. We were effectively told mediocrity was no longer good enough. This, combined with the ambitious attempt to sign JCH- made me think we had become something more. For a brief moment we didn't feel like ragarse rovers.
However, it wasn't long before the alarm bells started to ring.
- manager search lasting 6 weeks. (Remember- things weren't so bad that sacking Barton was obvious... so that really didn't have to be long)
- failure to give MT a full backroom from the off. - conteh deal - Martin deal - belshaw interference - January window
All of a sudden the early "ambition" that had been signposted to us gasheads- hadn't been matched up. To give some credit- I'm happy with the mem plans but until I'm sat in it- its not cynical to be doubtful.
I think this flip-flop generated by the previous manager and the board has really soured the fanbase. I think they should've backed the manager harder in the January and we should be seeing something closer to MT side. However- they did not.
If the first team squad budget is being trimmed we must step up our recruitment network. Whilst Emmis would've been a coup it was an obvious deal another club might have gazumped. My genuine fear is that we're not learning. We need to be putting in backroom team to go after this rebuild in a sustainable manner.
At the same time the players and management have worked hard- been professional and diligent with their efforts. I actually applaud the team and manager for how they've worked with energy around the club. A reset is needed but we still have some very good people in the club- at various levels. Just need to be putting the building blocks in place for next summer. The board could turn this energy around in an instance by appointing a head scout.

This is the one, this is the one! The best squad of the century we were told by Topper even in October he said this, I’ve screen shot this one, this will haunt you Toppwr with me, when this bloke delivers and he will, we are going to have fun me and you! You won’t even give the bloke a chance, give him a transfer window. Did you go to Norwich away? If Connor Taylor alone plays yesterday that defence is different, if you just add in one of Ward or Finley the side is transformed without Grant in it. Evans, Conteh, a fit Vale at left back instead of Gordon, we play like we did at Carrow Road. I will get abuse next season on here but this thread and you post will be bumped a lot. You really need help if a post from me his haunting you! The fact we easily beat Stevenage on Tuesday when we started to play suggests this squad is capable of easily finishing in the top 6, for whatever reason is decided not to play for two managers. The worry is it's clearly decided not to perform for the one presently in the job. One minute you're suggesting the owners won't spend any money, the next saying that MT will have a big clear out in the summer, clearly both can't happen unless MT brings in a load of cheap replacements, which is hardly going to improve matters. I'm sorry but are you suggesting the players pick & choose which games they decide to play for the manager ? We come from 2 down to win away at a play off chasing side & the next game the squad (decimated by injuries & suspensions) down tools & refuse to play for the manager. Don't you see how ridiculous that sounds ??

To be honest, I doubt there's a team in our league that can cope with losing thier entire midfield and still get a result. Injuries and suspensions are costing us. I fully expect Carlisle to beat us if we can't get at least one back for the weekend.

I'll bite. "make such a claim to Joeys face" I'd call him a lady garden to his face. It would be a real money spinner. He would lash out physically (because he is such a nasty thug of a c..nt). I'd take him to court for some of those millions that he pretends that he has. I don't hold those who have to use their fists in particularly high regard. The weeks prematch preparations? We played on Tuesday night. There would have been at least one rest day after that, maybe two. I remember when JB came in, he made a point of saying that when we had Sat/Tues/Sat it was very difficult to work with the players.

Spoken by his number one fan, no doubt got through a box of tissues today. The bloke is absolute scum - that is a FACT. For somebody who adores him and idolises him to the levels you do, I've no doubt you're very likely cut from the same cloth. Keep crying

"We couldn't open our legs, we had no aggression in our running, we were second best" "We don't seem to value these things, which I need to address" Recently he also suggested few players were even turning up for training after a match. Roady & co keep saying JB was a fraud but I don't think MT has a clue, if he did he would have already addressed the issues he's now talking about addressing. GC would have done that on Day 1. The only real hope for this season is the players decide to turn up for the odd home game and we manage to get to 50/52 pts well before the end of the season. If MT stays in charge for next season then I'm expecting more of the same, a season long battle to stay clear of the bottom 4.

You seem to be the only person who interpreted MT’s comments in that way - presumably deliberately and with mischievous intent. To most normal people it seemed fairly obvious that he was talking about the number of players carrying knocks, picking up new injuries and carrying niggles which prevented them taking part in training. I don’t know why you are so keen to create this nonsensical shyte about MT having no control and his players bunking off. Are you not embarrassed by some of the BS you sometimes come out with?

Yes I 'bothered' to listen to his interview and he's got it bang on they didn't have a run in them 1st half. But managers that have lost the dressing room don't get a response like the one at Stevenage, they get situations like we had under Penney when the players didn't try a leg. We've been poor in the last month but have still beaten Oxford & won at Exeter & Stevenage in that time. As for training I don't think he said they weren't turning up at all, no teams train the day after a game its a recovery day. Your entitled to your opinion that MT doesn't have a clue, personally I'll reserve judgement until he has more of his own players

Page 14 bar a couple of posters has seen a return of the Barton Supporters Club in full forces 😂👏
If we had Pep or Klopp in charge these lads would still be anti, now led by Hooper, Betty must have been busy this weekend! I don’t need to mention the couple of other and not aimed at you 79.
I take deep joy MT isn’t being sacked and you have to put up with him, simple choice lads, get behind or continue to waste copious amounts of hours bashing him on here, and that includes people like me, RD and Gasdust loving every minute of it!
We’ve Got Our Rovers Back 👍

Don't know what everyone getting so excited about. JB was sacked early imo and people love to hate him for non football reason, so be it. MT is never getting the sacked at this point and will be given the summer... But I don't know what sort of rebuild he will get, the ownership don't fill me with confidence.

Not sure if anyone has said already but this Will Evans fella at Newport looks a gem. Guessing we won’t be able to afford him though 👎

On the subject of signing injury prone players, it is extraordinary to remember that in the 73/74 promotion season we had 8 players with over 40 appearances (including 4 ever presents) and 3 with over 30.
How on earth was that achieved?
Especially when you think how bad the pitches were in general.

A group of under achieving players with many that can’t be ars*d, a team with loan players that are only interested in game time and the current owners where the ‘jury’ is clearly still out, this coupled with a Manager who’s blaming everyone else despite some obscure team selections & substitutions - yeah we’ve got our Rovers back alright. You’re a wind up merchant fella - just taking the p*ss - or trying to.
