I was responding to the previous comment. But I did name 8 teams and am waiting to see the two or more teams we have a better budget than. |

Road person, I'm not quoting you as I wasn't referring to you in the original post. (Only by you quoting me did I see your post as tend to scroll by).
Matt Taylor mentioned Scott and Brown on Having a Gas and he bemoaned their attitude.
No attempt by me or anyone else to support Barton, but just pointing out Taylor himself isn't averse to what folk rightly criticised Barton for.

I was told the information and believe it to be true. What makes up a playing budget? The honest truth is nobody knows !. I'm not aware of an accurate report outlining budgets of each club signed off and independently varifed. If there is can someone enclose a link?. Fans will make assumptions on the big signings in each division. The bigger clubs in this leauge will make huge signings like Ipswich last season and Peterboro . Also the bigger clubs will outbid each other for the non contracted players like Alfie May last year. It's a guessing game . Some think we compete with the bigger clubs like derby & Bolton. I think we have a reasonable budget around mid. I'm happy to be corrected if a link was found agreed and signed off stating we have a top seeded budget . |

No idea about the playing budget.
However we have used 29 players this season and eight of them have been loans. In addition two or three of our youngsters have made short cameo appearances at the end of games.

The manager publicly called out Brown and Sinclair the other day. Presumably neither will be part of any rebuild. Had Barton done that, he would rightly have been severely criticised. I must of missed this, can you send me the link, did he use words like “acted or is an idiot” and did he publicly say he can’t trust them like with Trev Clarke, if so I will take it back 👍 Also, while there, send over the link for calling Charlie Adam a “bald prick”. We got some desperate people on here trying to prove a point anyway. DC spoke publicly about Ellis, in a professional way, as does MT re his players. “If you had said to me at the end of last season Zain Westbrooke and Trevor Clarke were going to be in our starting XI on the opening day of the season, I would have said, ‘My god, we must have had a bad summer’.” He’s a good kid, he just can’t play the position how I want it played,” Barton said. “For me, he just doesn’t fill me with trust going forward. If I’m honest, I don’t trust him. I don’t think he’s the right component for us. We want to pass out, we want to play, and he’s not that type of full-back.” “I’ve been telling Trev all summer ‘I don’t trust you,” Barton continued. “You’re doing stuff in training, you’re not doing what I’m asking you to do, your retention of information I’m struggling with because how many times am I going to show you?’ “He’s not 17 or 19, he’s 24. His very name Roadyretrns says a lot. Seems to take every opportunity to criticise JB . As far as I am concerned the signs are that MT will do no better than JB but i very much hope i am totally wrong. I am convonced that JB would have sorted us out in the January window and again finished the season in an improved position on last year.

We will soon know the budget at the end of the season, but what I will say is, Barton never did a DC and complained his. Let’s also be frank here, one man built the expectation of this season, one man said at the end of the season you need a £4.5 million budget and 3 months later he was saying promotion was on the agenda………does this sound like a man who was working to a insufficient budget? I rest my case.
Fausty, I’m happy for any manager to talk about a player in a way to get a reaction or motivation, I don’t see how calling someone and idiot and scolding Trev Clarke does this………
I would hope under Matt Taylor’s leadership, a player like Belshaw does not need to seek professional help for mental health.
I listened to a Tareiq Holmes-Dennis podcast recently, he openly said Cogs made him train because players like Kelly were vying for his position but needed to protect his knee. I thought, dark ages thinking and a reason he is managing in Div2 and there is a reason Barton is unemployed, failed interviews at Bradford and FGR. A reason why Edwards is now in the Prem and MT with us in Div1, all promoted together, one never trusted to get a new job at Watford and Rotherham, he’s a crap manager, that’s why.

As far as I am concerned the signs are that MT will do no better than JB but i very much hope i am totally wrong. I am convonced that JB would have sorted us out in the January window and again finished the season in an improved position on last year. I’m glad you are convinced, I’d love to know what gives you this confidence, doesn’t 1.17 PPG in Div1 from January 1st 2022 tell you something was wrong? And while you are convinced, Belshaw was being treated by a private clinic, Thomas was called an idiot, look at his last 3 months now he’s left, his breakdown was clear that day at London Road when Thomas was nothing to do with the goal! I will remember this post of yours Steve, MT will deliver. |

Thomas has been superb all season hence why he tops this forums best players chart for the season, it's total b0ll0cks to say JB had issues with all his players, when the likes of LT, CT & LM signed for us after being here on loan other even followed him from previous clubs, we'll never know what want on with Belshaw. The fact the new owners wouldn't let him return suggests there's more to it than just a fall out with JB. It's interesting MT is singing Willo's, George's and Jack's praising saying we miss them when they are injured and they are Championship quality, MT also admitted he's having the same problems JB faced with the squad. |

The annual results will be a good pointer as to whether JB had a bigger budget as they've consistently shown annual debts around the £3m mark, if they suddenly jump over £4m it'll suggest JB went on a spending spree. Although if he did Wael would have had to agree to any additional spending. |

I’ve shown my knowledge of the game on deadline day, I could say so much more about his behaviour whilst manager of our club, so much more. 3 match ban start of season, kicked the refs door in, poor bloke was shaken badly by this. Stevenage game, his last, stormed in the changing room at HT for 1 minute, went absolutely mental at the players and said if they don’t sort it, he’s was resigning. Dragged the whole management team out with him, Wilson injured took the team talk. You wonder why he was sacked?!?! He was having a breakdown, 45 mins later who was publicly destroying the opposition manager by calling him a fat weeble. 2 weeks before he was calling Luke Thomas an idiot on the radio, if SteveK is convinced that’s fine but it’s a bit like saying Liz Truss was going to turn it around! |
