The fact it sounds like most of the players aren't bothering to turn up for training after a match brings into question those two points. I don't believe that for a minute. Even if that applies to one or two players then it doesn't seem like Taylor would hesitate in getting them gone How is any manager going to move on contracted players in just a January window? Listen to the interview in the link I've posted above, it sounds like virtually nobody is turning up for training after a match and another two players have cried off from playing tomorrow.

He's put the whole squad on notice with a few notable exceptions. I expect most to be moved on in the summer and the ones that don't move on will be come bit part players.

Well it's refreshing it not being ALL about the personality, that's for sure. Being able to manage and motivate isn't all about charisma, there's plenty out there who are just odd people who know about football. If the players respect him, and he knows what he's doing, we'll be a lot better off as a club than where we were heading. The fact it sounds like most of the players aren't bothering to turn up for training after a match brings into question those two points. Where did you get that from? I listened to the interview and it seemed to me he was commenting on the lack of numbers to actually be on the training pitch that he could work with, most likely wear and tear plus injuries on the back of 90 mins on a heavy pitch rather than some weird suggestion players were “bunking off”. My guess is that those not on the training pitch will have been with physio’s and masseurs and not in the pub or snooker hall.

"There doesn’t seem to be much durability in the squad. One thing we have to do at the end of this season before next season is start getting a durable squad first and foremost and look at who played 30, 40 games the season before, the season before that, because we can’t keep signing players who are fantastic players but their unavailable factor plays a bigger part and it really affects the group." This is encouraging and exactly what I stated a few pages back and what Roady has called pension pot signings. 30 games a season minimum consistently is what builds a durable squad. Get these sicknotes out the club. SteveK is convinced Barton would have turned it around in the January window?! Imagine it, a lot more pension pots, MacDonalds, Nolan’s, the bloke today when many of us realised 2 years ago. GB News now go to Barton’s agent for a quote, they have been begging him to go on, wife beater even screen shot the message to “Eddy”. I’m telling, if Wael had that balls to ring the police, they would unearth grand scale fraud with Jennings and Spendlove. We’ve got our Rovers Back!

18 Scousers employed by the club over 3 years, systematic bias and fraud.
I can’t wait for next season, I really can’t.
Bollcks and I’m saying it, I’ve heard of 3 we are trying for end of season who are Bosmans now, very very good players, we are looking to have deals done by 1st June.

I thought his words re Jevani Brown were professional and honest, he answered it brilliantly.
The good times will roll next season with Taylor.

WTAF is going on here! I thought this sort of interaction had mellowed?

Feel like we are going to be more proactive with signings under Matt, no more 50 50 injury hit players who might play a few games a season. He s already stated we need more pace up front, looking forward to early deals too Paul.

We'll see this afternoon if the players are bothering to turn up for MT, or whether we've got to suffer yet another poor end to a season.

And no more playing golf with James Norwood sorts in Scotland who mugs you off and then you take a call from an agent telling you my player Marquis is training on his own in Dubai and needs a club………and then you announce we have signed the best striker in the league, no there is a reason he’s training on his own. They met Friend at the Marcus Stewart charity game, it wasn’t planned. This summer will see a proper scouting network for players and targets. Let’s hope we win today Gasheads, I know some will take deep joy if we lose today but then I do understand, I got here with Barton 😂👍

Whether the players put in a decent performance or not this afternoon will have no correlation to your ridiculous suggestion that players have been bunking off training.

Incredible the amount of coverage RE: Joey Barton for a thread called "Rebuild Summer 2024"
He's gone. Personally I'm not disappointed but I appreciate there are some that really enjoyed 12 months of his tenure. For a few it might have been their first promotion watching the gas, for others it might have been last promotion watching with a special person.
Please do not turn posts about the future into another chance to gloat about Bartons departure. Like or loathe him he's gone. And he will not be in charge of summer 2024 rebuild.
Ironicly I don't have too much to add. I'd still like us to squeeze everything we can out of this season... and next season is going to see a huge turnover of players. I think under Taylor we are clearly missing a support striker that can "go in behind." Were really susceptible to the "high block" because we don't have a striker that makes runs in behind the back line. Not a criticism of Martin- he's not in the side for that. Its clearly what he wants the 10s we've been playing with to do... but thats the key position we don't have at the club. So would be priority position.
Oddly, I think Sinclair would do this well from a central position. Today I'd like us to play Evo up top, Sinclair and Agrulia off him.

This is the problem with the forum Madgas, you have highlighted this, you just see the Barton bash. Have you seen the hope MT does bad bash, the undercurrents of it and I’m one who sees it and batts it back! But on the football side, let’s talk this, I’ve been thinking as well, Sinclair off the shoulder of Martin, I’d give him a run as well. I hope Marquis proves me wrong today and it’s another afternoon lf this, Marquis being chased by defenders and caught!

I’ve got to admit, I struggle on your age, one thing is for sure, I’m convinced you live at home still with your parents! That’s either at school or in your 40, 50, 60’s 😂👍 I mean let’s look at it, hoping Aguilera can recommend some Costa Rican mates to us, you said this. And now saying players are on purpose ringing in sick for training, just those two statements alone 😂👏 Anyway I hope your swimming lessons went well this morning.

I hope Marquis proves me wrong today and it’s another afternoon lf this, Marquis being chased by defenders and caught! I'm neither for or against managers . A manager like a player is accountable to Bristol Rovers . The point I'm raising is performances / results have improved marginally. I hope we win today and it means on a 13 -13 split Taylor is +3 points. But if we draw and lose at Stevenage is record would be worse than Bartons . And you can't undermine data paul. It's the only way to give evidence to an argument. Otherwise judgement is based on prejudice. Fans have a right to opinions. On Tuesday I left 20 minutes before the end . I was home to watch the final results on t.v. I hope for the sake of Taylor we skin Burton today and the players get a standing ovation at the whistle.
