I admire your positivity. I'm not really being positive. I said we don't know yet. We might have a bad summer 😂. The succubus me signing of Conteh is hopefully a sign of what's to come in the summer. We nearly messed that up though! Hopefully we have learnt from our mistakes and get things done early. I had to google succubus !

It was supposed to just say the signing of Conteh is hopefully a sign of things to come.

The failure to sign JCH was the turning point with this squad and I also think with JB. I believe it was the owners who let us down and sold Joey down the road. They were trying to show that we had cash to spend when we didnt really and they pulled the plug leaving us a striker short (even Loft was better than nothing) and the owners did the same in January getting £800,000 and not signing a striker thereby leaving CM as the only striker. Unfortunately i think we have more chance of League 2 football under these owners than Championship.

Ollie Mc Burnie scored today.Never really impressed for us. He only played a handful of games, DC seemed to view loan players as cover for injuries, and some of them didn't get many starts.

He had a chance to come back to rovers but turned it down I seem to remember🤔💙 He played for us in the Lee Brown goal promotion season and only ever played the odd ten minutes here and there. Went back to Swansea and early that season played his first Premiership game, went to Barnsley in the Championship the next season on loan, scored several goals and returned to Swansea where he starred and was eventually bought by Sheffield Utd.

DC trusted ‘his’ squad and always preferred them. He used the loanees, as Tilly has said, for cover/injuries /suspensions. McBurnie like Connor Roberts (I think) was here but didn’t play. Both gone on to have good careers elsewhere. Perhaps it’s me but I think DC preferred a smaller squad and he certainly knew his best team ‘14-‘17. Something I don’t think I’ve seen a manager know since. (Although tbf JB in the run in to promotion did probably know it). It was only when the squad started to leave that DC found it hard to replace them. UTG!

on Mcburnie, he joined joined on 7 march 2016
in his 5 substitute appearances (no goals) we won
3-1 1-0 4-1 3-0 2-0
Of the 12 games between his signing and the end of the season, we won 9, drew 2, lost 1, scored 29 and conceded 11.
we didn't need McBurnie, he was simply cover for if someone got injured

What would have happened when his money ran out if the ALS hadn't arrived?

I should of course said Connor Roberts was on loan with us in 15-16. My error. Apologies.
UTG!
