17 games remaining. Win 14 of them we finish on 82 points. Should be enough for the playoffs. Should be the goal. The impossible dream. We love to chase. It’s a big target and if the manager, the players and also the supporters aren’t aiming for it and believing it can be done then we’ve got no chance. If everyone believes we can and gives it their all then there is a chance albeit a small chance.

From the Exeter forum; "Rovers were bitches when it came to going down and cheating - how the ref gave just minutes is beyond me....his should have been a home win to build our points up for a difficult period coming up" "Rovers are boring and play anti football with giants in defence. A goal that should never have stood, along side hitting the crossbar twice and a rovers goalkeeper who was MOTM." "Unlucky I thought, deserved a point. Taylor desperate to get a win and didn't care what it took" Lovely, cry some more you c .unts! Tbh they’re not wrong but it’s nice that we’re on the positive end of the shithousing this time. I actually thought the ref was a bit lenient to them in their defensive third and we should’ve had a few more free kicks but never mind. Ultimately I don’t think anyone on here can argue that if Exeter got the equaliser, they’d have deserved it on the merit of play - but we defended resolutely and our goalkeeper performed very well. That’s how the cookie crumbles.

Yeah that annoys us doesn’t it. But not as much as radio Bristol commentary I don't get how SheriDAN gets excited when the opposition almost score, doesn't she realise that her listeners don't want them to score? I listened to the Exeter commentary on I follow. They called us Bristol but other than that it was way better than radio Bristol. In fact I’d go as far to say that I’ve never heard another commentary on a Rovers game that I thought was worse than radio Bristol. And that’s not just since they’ve had that awful new one it’s ever since I’ve been watching games I can’t get to on I follow which goes back a few years now.

Great result, that’s the Exeter hoodoo put to bed, playoff’s still look a long shot, but with 2 home games Fleetwood & Burton coming up in the next 7 days, gain 6 points & the picture could start looking a lot more promising.

Top 6 should be the aim. We’re almost top 10 now with 53 points left to play for. We are 12 points away from top 6 having played one more than the team in 6th. Too much to make up imo. We persevere and we prevail, so as long as it’s a mathematical possibility we never give up. UTG!

Absolutely no reason not to be ending the Burton game with four straight wins. Both teams in the bottom 7 over the last ten games for form and likewise for their away records this season. Perfect opportunity to put a few together (though good win for Fleetwood today).

Watched a couple of 90mins of him since and looks a player. 👍🏻 What. A. Goal. I don’t know how Taylor and McAllister (he might have been involved) got a World Cup international player in of this quality. Fair play to them, early days but he could go down in folklore like the Latvian!

Playoff nonsense again?
A strong top half finish will be a good season.
I predict 11th or 12th.

With Matt Taylor as manager he won’t be afraid to give our youngsters a chance. Funny isn’t it Ward wasn’t exactly getting rave reviews on loan. Not sure he would have ever gotten a look in without the change of manager? Not sure what the point is in loaning to random non league clubs it hardly ever helps. Give them a chance in our team! Not sure he'd have got a look in without Cox conceding a soft goal v Exeter at the Mem? It's baffling why MT waited so long to give Ward a start. Only with hindsight. Good on Taylor for giving him a go now. He’s still very young and inexperienced. Hopefully he’ll get the rest of the season now.

That was a good performance by Rovers. A bit of magic won us the game but we worked hard to get over the line. The goal was absolute class and what a lovey player Agullera is. On our day we can beat any team in this division. It's a very very long shot but let's keep going gas and you never know!

A lot of talk about where we can finish , would love the play offs (obv) but we would have to go on a unbelievable run , plus hope those up there well and truly fck up.
And the one team with a game in hand , Steve Evans flippin Stevenage. Think we are looking at mabey 8th which would be our best finish for 24 years ( damning stat that)
and a good go next season . Bit boring I know , but realistic , but thats not to say we shouldnt go for a win every game UTG

I like realistic targets. It would be super ground breaking for sure to get to the play offs. We’ve done it before.

Very wrong on the back of this quote. "The best thing about the staff is that we’ve got a network of people who know people in the game. So there were phone calls to Hull and Nottingham Forest and the moment that we got good character references on the back of seeing they were good players, it was a dead certain for us." I don’t think we did references before!!

Once upon a time we'd get loan players in and not play them.
Now we get them in and give them a go.
If you were a top club, who would you trust to look after your best talent?

Matty Taylor referenced having staff in the building with contacts in the football world as being responsible for getting the loans in from Forest, Hull etc. in his after match talk to Bristol Live. That seems to put to bed the thought that we have nobody with any idea about recruitment.
